There were lots of familiar faces, many constituents, and even a former student, Natalie! Towson is where I found my start in public service, which is why it was truly so special to speak with these outstanding Tigers.
Welcome, Towson Tigers! 🐯As a proud alum and former professor, I was beyond excited to take some time in between votes to welcome the Towson Student Government Association and Towson President, Mark Ginsberg, to the Capitol.

This is all thanks to the collaboration between the local, state, philanthropic, and federal partners that has allowed us to think bigger and bolder on our conservation efforts – and make our waterways more accessible for generations to come.
ICYMI: The Saltworks Creek Watershed will soon be open to the public! It was an honor to join @aacoexec.bsky.social in taking down the “No Trespassing” sign at the property’s entrance – marking an official end to the era of private use for the Saltworks area.
Even on the busy days, sitting down with each intern class is one of my favorite parts of the job because I get to hear what motivated their passion for public service and the issues they came to work on in Washington.

The Ambassador’s cooperation helped ensure humanitarian aid was distributed to those in need.
Last year, after hearing from constituents about additional food aid in the United Arab Emirates that had not yet been distributed, I called on the State Department to use every tool available to ensure this aid reaches the people of Gaza.
Congress must maintain strong diplomatic relations with our allies in the Middle East as the President attempts to circumvent our authority. The UAE has also been a key ally in ensuring humanitarian aid reaches the Gaza Strip.
As the President’s war in Iran continues to escalate, I met with the United Arab Emirates Ambassador Yousef al-Otaiba to discuss the impacts of this war on the UAE and the broader Gulf region.
They shared some great answers to the question of what you would do as a member of Congress: everything from banning plastic bags to making school lunches free. (We even got to talk about blue catfish!)
Especially after a long week in Congress, I’m grateful for the energy, passion, and optimism of students visiting and experiencing our democracy up close.
Despite voting on the House floor until 1:30 AM last night, I was back at the Capitol this morning to welcome over 100 kiddos from Elkridge Elementary to Washington!
My Republican colleagues refuse to exercise their Constitutional duties to check and balance this President. Now that we’re back in Washington, I will continue pursuing every means possible to hold the President accountable and get answers not just for Congress, but for the American people.
We are nearly 50 days into the President’s war with Iran, and still this Administration has made zero effort to even brief Congress on the war, much less consult us as a coequal branch of government.
I’m so grateful I could sit down with the Deputy Chief of Engineering and Asset Management at Howard County Department of Public Works and our other local water experts to brainstorm on how we can meet the needs of our communities.
Well-funded and managed drinking, waste, and storm water systems are crucial to ensuring all our neighbors have access to clean, affordable water for years to come.
Improving water infrastructure, lowering the cost of water bills, regulating PFAS, & increasing cybersecurity for our public utilities: these are just some of the topics we discussed in my meeting with the Chesapeake Sections of the American Water Works Association & Water Environment Association!

That’s why today, I voted YES again to pass a War Powers Resolution to bring the President’s war to an end.
It is clear the President and Secretary Hegseth have no strategy – let alone an exit strategy – for their war in Iran. Congress cannot sit on the sidelines as servicemembers are put at risk, gas prices rise, and our nation spends tens of billions on this war.
That's why I voted in favor of @meeks.house.gov’s War Powers Resolution to once again stop the President from taking any further reckless and unconstitutional military action in Iran.
Like many in my generation, I hold grave concerns about our country being dragged into another endless war in the Middle East and even greater concerns about war crimes being threatened by this President.
Our Framers made clear in Article I that Congress holds the sole Constitutional power to declare war. Yet we are nearly 50 days into this war in Iran, & the President has failed to deliver to Congress – or the American people – a clear exit plan, all while continuing to escalate tensions via Tweet.
Let me be clear: I do not take this action lightly – but when it becomes abundantly apparent that our Commander in Chief's reckless and irrational behavior is overstepping Constitutional authority and putting lives at risk, we must act.
I’ve joined @raskin.house.gov’s legislation to establish a bipartisan standing body, and act with the Vice President, to remove the President under the guidelines of the 25th Amendment.
