Some sketches I did yesterday from photos I took of the food I ate over the weekend (my partner and I went out a couple times to celebrate our anniversary š). I was in a pretty good mood over the weekend until I checked the news. What can I say? Call/email your reps š£ļø

lol actually when he called me to wish me a happy international womenās day, I actually was reeeeaaaally quiet for a long moment before I came up with that response because, with everything thatās happening in the world, it took me so off guard.
My best friend who is a man, kindly calling me the other day: Happy international womenās day!!!!!
Me: Is itā¦happy? Itās certainly international womenās day.
John Ryan ... A nation that can instantly fund war but debates funding healthcare has a values problem, not a budget problem.
This šš
A couple thingsā¦
The āconflictā in Iran *IS* a war.
It is a war of choice.
It is warfare without conscious.
It was unprovoked.
And Iām sick and tired of people suggesting & implying the only tragedies herein are that US Service Members have died. The people of Iran are innocents in this conflict!
The morally bankrupt Trump administration has partnered with another morally bankrupt authoritarian to declare an unprovoked war on Iran, already killing scores of civilians.
We need an immediate vote from Congress on a War Powers Resolution. Then articles of impeachment.
Lizard head sketches plus a couple attempts at dragon heads

and I have no idea why I didnāt make that connection earlier because, simplified, dragon=giant lizard with wings whereas I was thinking it was dragon=dinosaur with wings and for some reason that distinction is really important in my brain (2/2)
I know that this might seem obvious (and it is) but, in my quest to drawing cooler looking dragons, Iām finding that drawing lizards is actually really helpful (1/2)
ā¦mmm but now somethingās rolling around in my head and maybe Iāll end up referencing this for a different idea I have anyhow š¤ (2/2)

Went digging into my digital art folder and found this sketch exploration I made of a chiton (a type of clothing from Ancient Greeceācanāt say this sketch is terribly accurate for sure but I tried) and I never used it for what I intended to reference it for⦠(1/2)
Seeing as āSimon Postscriptā is definitely not my real name, Iām all for pen-names lol. I think you should do whatever makes you feel most comfortable/safest.
Iād really like start to learn to draw more serious, intense, fantasy dragons š, but for this I just wanted to kind of see what I intuitively do as a starting point. (2/2)
My brain says that if dragons were real that it might be dangerous. My soul says it would be really really cool though. I think these dragons would be more cute than dangerous tho lol (1/2)

Or maybe itās more accurate to also say expand from what theyāre not covering in the book though it goes without saying
Oh just a note I forgot to mention but Iād feel bad if I didnāt warn you: the Loomis books are old (like theyāre from the 40s or something?) so they are pretty antiquated in terms of thinking/what/who they concentrate on. Take whatās useful, ignore everything else š
I think Proko is probably a good YouTuber to start with and so is Alphonso Dunn especially if you want to get into working with ink and pens. I also think Ethan Beckerās videos have really good advice.
And the Loomis books are pretty classic. Also look at lots of art and find your favorite artists! Do studies of their work and figure out what you can incorporate into your own stuff.
Then you can start adding drawing exercises particularly ones that challenge your observation and hand eye coordination skills. And there are lots of great videos to learn from on YouTube for more specifics. In terms of books, I highly suggest the morpho series for learning anatomy
I think if I were to start from scratch all over again I would start by just drawing anything for a couple weeks. You know like from imagination and observation just to get in the habit. Try to completely fill a page before moving on to the next one. Just have fun with it.
Drawing some dragons. Or like, you know, trying to lol

Nope no trademark or address š„². It was a loose leaf black tea and it kind of tasted like golden monkey tea but it wasnāt exactly the same and didnāt have golden tips so it canāt be that.
This is a really good suggestion so I just tried it but based on the search I think the packaging it came in is just a generic tea storage container š
100% relatable
I donāt know the name of the tea or even which country they got it from (though I think itās either Singapore or Taiwan) so now Iāll just have to live the rest of my life with the mystery while yearning for this tea š„² (2/2)
Just brewed myself a cup of tea using the last teaspoon and a half-ish I had left of a tea my parents got me when they went on a cruise around Asia last year. (1/2)

Which makes absolute sense for me because I still kinda do that with movies I really like. Though maybe Iām not rewatching them quite that frequently. Except for the time period I was watching Amelie. That movie I did in fact watch once a day for about a year. (3/3)
Tbh mermaids hold a special place in my heart because I was so obsessed with The Little Mermaid as a little kid. I remember watching it a lot but I was told by my family that apparently at one point I was watching it every day (along with Kikiās Delivery Service). (2/3)
