The housing emergency affects people across the whole of society, but we know that People of Colour ─ particularly Black communities ─ are hit hardest.

This investigation took @lucascumiskey.bsky.social months of work – submitting FOI requests and challenging refusals, crunching the data and figuring out how to present it all.

The policies of the last decades have created a housing situation that harms our health but just as these decisions were made, they can be unmade.

Children facing housing insecurity less likely to pass GCSEs, research shows Children who are uprooted from their homes repeatedly throughout school go on to achieve fewer GCSE passes, according to new evidence from the office of the children's commissioner for England.

Record numbers of kids living like this. It's costing us billions in temporary accomodation bills now, and more importantly, risks costing those kids their futures. Good to see the Childrens' Commissioner and @kwajo.bsky.social on the case.

Shameful. Even if there is a calculator where your heart should be, the least you have to understand is how much damage this causes to the economy. While the situation is this dire, there is not going to be any growth, there is not going to be a reduction in crime, and the NHS remains broken.
