SH*T! Just realized that he probably used #ChatGPT to write his manuscript and made up all those fake references! Pathetic!

I am so tired of these academic parasites in the US.
They hide behind titles like “Professor” or “Senior,” but can’t even find a basic reference! The citations they sent me literally had made-up titles. Unbelievable!
The #Velocity theme for @obsidian.md looks so good, honestly can't stop using it.

I used to think I don’t need GitHub in my workflow since I code independently. But recently I started with a new account and I finally get it now: it is just so smooth to have @github.com in the flow. Committing and pushing every day feels like giving myself a little reward. Love it❤️!
I think I was right. This paper didnt integrate much with real-world scenarios or empirical data, it is too theoretical, and thatis why it was submitted to a mid-tier journal. In fact, it has a very strong model design and a good idea.
It is an impressive work, but Im also curious about it. The design is great, but why submit to a mid-tier journal? Something must be holding it back...
Im reviewing a manuscript and barely got into the Methods section before it made me sit up. I haven’t read something this relevant and inspiring in a while.
definitely fall in love with #obsidian, clean, small, fast, simple, customizable, and free.

I have just upgraded to a new MacBook Pro (finally free from compute limits, temporarily). While organizing all my drives and cloud storage, I realized my file management has been an absolute mess. I survived all these years by relying purely on the memory of file paths.

Good news, but I’m so confused… what was all the chaos for?

This review shows the migratory waterfowl moved the virus across continents, while seabirds and colonial species suffered massive die-offs, reshaping HPAI ecology worldwide.
It is a challenging work to put all this information together and sort out the role of wild birds in HPAI dispersal.

They also found that backyard poultry flocks were infected earlier than commercial farms, suggesting the backyard poultry could act as early warning sentinels.
They find at least 9 independent introductions into Atlantic and Pacific flyways from Eurasia, followed by a rapid continent-scale spread driven mainly by migratory waterfowl. Many other species were infected, but mostly as dead-end hosts.
A great work by our webinar speaker @lhmoncla.bsky.social and her team. They used phylodynamic analyses of H5N1 to reconstruct how the 2021–2023 North American HPAI outbreak started and spread across flyways, host groups, and agriculture.

Too much fucking violence in the world, let’s pray for peace.
We are excited to invite abstract submissions for talks and posters for the 2026 Ecology and Evolution of Infectious Diseases meeting at Virginia Tech (June 2-4). Abstract submissions should be made by February 3, 2026 for consideration, using the google form here: cpe.vt.edu/eeid2026/abs...

Currently seriously considering learning #Julia, which seems like a promising tool. Any other suggestions (high computational capacity and a short learning curve!)?
My new model in development is way too computationally intensive (millions of grid cells with daily environmental variable updates, times 10,000+ of agents' behaviors). #NetLogo (I still love NetLogo) cannot help me with this task.
wonderful story about people, tradition, religion, and #wildlife #conservation. I LOVE SNOW LEOPARD.
