Bye #chi2026 - conference and my last steering committee physical meeting done.

Amazing.

I’ve had a great time on the committee over the last 7 years, most recently working on helping CHI to scale peer-review and maintain integrity in the review process, and co-organising 2023/2024. It’s incredibly rewarding and valuable to shape the community.

Being an AC for #chi2026 has been interesting so far. I’m senior reviewer for 7 papers and reviewer for 6.
- 4 assisted desk rejects (ADR)
- 2 more should have been ADR
- only 1 useless ChatGPT review.
- 5 reviews where text doesn’t justify the recommendation clearly (that I asked them to fix)

Wait. You two think fewer people will travel to York England than USA? Just checking I’m reading it right.
