These stats will make a huge dent in climate change:
- air pollution 1/3 from 12 years ago
- 50% of all new vehicles sold are EVs or plug in hybrid EVs
This is in the world's largest auto market, in absolute numbers the effects are huge!

Same comment here. There has been a sharp veer away from logical discussion and into logical fallacy. Sus.

The insanity of the Carbon Capture deception.
The insanity of the Carbon Capture deception. YouTube video by Just Have a Think

CCS is currently a waste of resources, that could be better devoted to other decarbonisation methods. We're far better of focusing these resources on switching to renewable energy generation.
Dave Borlace says it far better than I can: www.youtube.com/watch?v=prrF...

In academic theory: CCS works
In actual practice: CCS does not
Reason #1: Renewables + batteries have a lower LCOE than fossil fuels
Reason #2: Renewables + batteries have an even lower LCOE than fossil fuels + CCS
Reason #3: Most CO2 is used to extract fossil fuels, missing the whole point

12 years is still pretty good. That's about 8% ROI, which is around the long term average for the US stock market (but with much lower risk).
Also it could be better than 12 years if you factor in your feed in rates to the grid + the increase in sale value as you pointed out.

#5: A direct quote
"Everyone says that when you cook on #gas it tastes better. But when the price changes, the taste also changes."
#Electrify all the things!

#4: When we say #EV, in the developed world, it refers to a car. But in developing economies it's actually 2&3-wheelers. And those are much easier to #electrify.

#3: TIL a new term, "utility death spiral"
It's playing out in Pakistan like this: Blackouts and high prices from #coal -> More choose #solar -> Fixed costs of operation and distribution are spread over smaller customer based -> increased prices (and repeat)

1 year ago 0 0 1 0

Oh wow, if that's *with* installation I'd consider that a very good deal. Seems like labour is much more expensive here in Singapore, and adds to the overall costs more than the tariffs on Chinese solar modules do in USA.

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

That tracks, here in Singapore, that costs ~17K USD, because we have no additional #solar import #tariffs from China. The payback period is ~5 years. So it'd be ~8 years for you, which is pretty good. (Assuming no batteries, and YMMV depending on your local net metering and or feed in rates)
