A profoundly disturbing movie that still haunts me years later. So bleak everyone in Australia know the radioactive ☢️ cloud is coming and then they discover the signal was just a blind blowing in the wind.
You should watch Fail Safe next. 😬

Almost stopped reading about a 1/4 way through. The motivation of the characters seemed weak and I was sure I had figured out the ending. I kept reading however. There were a couple interesting twists and the novel was serviceable entertaining.

A bit to relevant. A being with great power at his disposal decides to impose his own brand of peace on the world, by force is necessary.
The story is great. Don’t like that they sidelined #aquaman so early in the story. Not a big fan of the illustration style.

Not sure why it took me this long to get around to reading this amazing graphic novel. The subject matter is difficult but worth exploring in this format. The mice and cats actually sensed to add an emotionality to the story that a text only story would not.

Interesting story about family and finding out who you are and were you fit. The story telling was unique and I enjoyed the nonlinear way it was done. I felt connected to the characters and what happened to them even when they made the wrong choices.

You, Me & Tuscany (2026) A free-spirited American chef and reserved British lawyer embark on a whirlwind romance during a destination wedding in coastal Italy.

It was like a Hallmark movie wandered into a theatre and was dazed and confused about what it was doing there. Everyone in Italy speaks English. Being a British orphan at age 10 will give you a cultured English accent. What was with the slow mo kisses🤷‍♂️

I’m felling a bit daft. I’m familiar with the Avignon papacy and the period of the three popes. But I’m missing the modern corollary. There is so much news it is hard to keep up.

Just realized I haven’t watched much lately. And Laura Living Backwards was a 15 minute short. Excellent but I guess not really a movie. I need to get back to the cinema

Circle of Days by Ken Follett A FLINT MINER WITH A GIFTSeft, a talented flint miner, walks the Great Plain in the high summer ...

A long noble about herders who built a giant strong monument. #stonehenge It reads at a good pace and the characters are interesting. It all seems plausible. Helps that I’ve been there and understand the scale. Not Ken’s best work, that would be Pillars.

Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien Madeleine Thien's internationally acclaimed, Scotiabank Giller Prize-winning novel now available ...

This well written novel has everything: Chinese communist struggle sessions, classical music, Chairman Mao’s Cultural Revolution, the love of family, and so much more. A dense and fascinated read. #GGBooks. I listened to Bach’s Goldberg Variations as I read.

Lots of things are hard to explain to children. The Holocaust, quantum physics, and why a socialist preacher who said love one another and feed the poor was killed by the state.
