It's true! Can't just put the book down when you're tired of listening to him yak at you. That said, I love Sven and don't begrudge him his popularity. But also glad he lives on a ship with soundproof walls 😂
It's more that Sven is well-described as a "class clown," "bubbly," and "hyper." I was actually quite concerned readers would find him annoying, but in practice he polls extremely well and is a consistent favorite.
...so it turns out I'm just a curmudgeonly, no-fun hater 😅.
Like...yes, you're both hot, and I support your relationship, and I'm glad you're happy and comfortable with yourselves and each other, but IT'S THREE IN THE MORNING FFS WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO BE DONE

This is a great read! I loved how rational the cast was when things go off the rails!
I would love living with Alan. I would probably murder Sven.
But biggest issue is that they have loud sex so if the walls are thin, I'm just killing both of them. Not worth the risk tbh.
Added the book info to the official TS website a whole three days before it came out. I'm good at things 😌.
The secret is to have Lilis help with editing no matter which book you're writing (I completely missed this too >_>;;).
That would probably lower the coziness, it's true XD.
Though the sky above was a blue so bright and burning, it might as well have been white, the whole valley gleamed with dense canopies of leaves and sparkling rivers. Amid these parks were tiered buildings, built in the style of the Pyreel, the Hatieel, and the Indrael, as well as towering walls carved with fanciful statues of what might have been either mythical animals, or local Pyre wildlife. Even with the train’s tinted glass windows, Alan needed to cup a hand over his eyes as he glanced up at the sky. The famous domed kites dotted the sky above Thee, bobbing lazily in the wind. Designed to generate energy, hold in moisture, and reduce the sun’s glare, the kites’ conception had been pivotal for Thee’s development. Thee vis Drimenn had been built on an oasis, but it was an early form of these kites that allowed the pyreans to take their first, stumbling steps toward terraforming. From there, kite technology matured into the pinnacle of efficiency and the height of beauty. Triple Strike: Threads Unbound
Next up on the "daily quote celebrating Earth Day until Starfarer's Dream's release" list is a description of Thee vis Drimenn, the capital of Pyre, which is the home planet of the pyreans. Thee is famous for its solar kites and fountains.
Me: We need to do laundry.
Partner: I'll start it now.
Me: Can you wash this hoodie too?
Partner: Okay, hand it to me, and I'll put it in the bin.

The gentle red light of QB Alpha made Merak’s daytime a perpetual, soft twilight. QB Beta was little more than a pinprick hovering along the horizon at this time of year, but when Alpha rose earlier this morning, the waves, plants, and scenic village hugging the coastline all glowed in its sleepy, rosy hue. The foliage on the island, from the grass rushes to the lush vines to the thick bushes exploding with multi-petaled flowers, was black or near-black, yet the plants were so waxy they gleamed pink in the daylight. The island they’d chosen to stay on hosted one of the larger port towns, but it felt like little more than a sleepy fishing village. The hum of insects from the nearby estuaries was a perpetual, tranquil buzz, and during the previous evening, as the team settled into their hotel room, the red glow of QB Alpha faded, giving way to the inky blues of night and flocks of birds that blotted out the starry skies. Triple Strike: A Gathering Storm
Surely the rest of the Internet has 4/20 covered, so here's a Triple Strike quote celebrating 4/22 (Earth Day)! Okay, technically not Earth. Merak is a tidally locked planet in a binary star system of red dwarfs, but this passage is a tribute to the insects and birds of Earth's estuaries 🦆🦋
Yeah makes sense. I am definitely in your camp on this one though 😅
I value verbal communication and confirmation, so I’d personally want that sort of communication, especially from a partner tbh 😅
Yeah, if somebody else is in the house, I’d mention I’m leaving. I may not give a time estimate if I say “I’m going to the store” which has a built in time approximation, but if it’s unclear, I usually say “I’ll be back by x” or “it’ll be about y time” etc.
He’s a goth. It’s the dream of every goth to drive a hearse, right? 😂
Steele: Bentley
Ragnar: A hearse
Gunnar: A minivan
Sif: Subaru hatchback
I know I'm late to this, but I actually have answers ready to go because my partner and I like doing "car personality tests" haha.
Alan: Corolla
Sven: Miata
Valtra: Ford Ranger
Ian: A Triumph he spends more time tinkering with than driving
Natalia: Ducati
Hilde: Jaguar
Colin: Audi
Terraforming was a complex process, and there were many interspecies rules and regulations governing what was allowed, particularly when pre-existing ecosystems that harbored life were involved. Yet in the case of lifeless, inhospitable 3rd Daphne, the pyreans who terraformed it had much freedom in their choices. Thus, they’d chosen conditions that must have seemed like a paradise by Pyre standards. A hot climate with high gravity, just as the pyreans experienced back home — but with more water and plant life to support larger herds and groves. It was sparse and barren by Earth’s standards, but not every planet had Earth’s magnificent biomes and astounding biodiversity. Both the pyreans and ma’jenn came from more humble origins, and only after humanity achieved interstellar transit and first contact did they come to appreciate how their home planet was a veritable Garden of Eden. Triple Strike: Pasts Revisited
Given Triple Strike: Starfarer's Dream is coming out two days after Earth Day, and thinking about all the amazing photographs taken on the Artemis II mission, I'm going to be posting quotes from the books that celebrate life on both our planet and across the universe 🌎🌍🌏
💯💯💯
Meertaur is also excellent! Not to mention meerkats are pretty scrappy so I bet they're mighty warriors -- especially with those shapely legs 😂.
I think you're right! Using this as an excuse to look up etymology, the mer in mermaid means "sea" so "maid of the meer" is probably more correct!
...unless you wanna get really pedantic and got with holmaid -- "maid of the burrow" -- which loses the thread of the joke, but...has its own charms? 😅
Is that a mermeer or a merkat?
I personally think if your crime is funny enough, it should no longer count as a crime and you should be hailed as a hero.
Folks, I'm afraid that I might be funny

What a fine chonk!
A black and white illustration on board a ma'jenn star maker. It depicts a tall ma'jenn with dark skin, pale dreadlocks with rings and bells woven into them, and curly rams' horns. They have one hand on their chest and the other behind their back. They are wearing a baggy embroidered tunic and pants and a sash belt.
Oh, they're space furries 😅. This is the one specifically.
The cover of Triple Strike: Starfarer's Dream, book 5 in the series. It depicts Alan and Sven standing opposite with their hands cupped together releasing fireflies into a starry night sky.
Final book of Triple Strike, Starfarer's Dream, is coming out next Friday (the 24th), and it's now available for preorder as both paperback and ebook on Barnes and Noble! (ebook is already available for preorder on Amazon and itch~)
