From the ripcity community on Reddit: Blazers defense gets the stop and JG dunks it on the other end to win the game Explore this post and more from the ripcity community

Absolute madness on this final possession. Camara defending Booker so tight he burned four seconds and had to kick it out. Green with the miss, JG and Thybulle steal it and transition to offense as the Suns collapse. Amazing W #ripcity #lfg

A photo of the Thompson Elk Statue in downtown portland , which earlier today was replaced on its plinth after a six year absence, having been removed during the 2020 BLM protests, where it was repeatedly set ablaze. The statue is famously (a) not of an actual elk, a species which the sculptor had only heard about and never actually seen , and (b) depicted on the cover of Cascadian black metal band Agalloch's 2002 epic "The Mantle".

Agalloch enjoyers rejoice - balance has been restored to the universe, or at least a little slice of downtown Portland

it's such a good fucking song!!! i got to mix 40WS when he played Portland last year and it was magnificent.

it's pretty light mod work, we mostly stamp out the occasional transphobe or Bobby Liebling apologist.

The Maven interface looks like a military-skinned version of corporate project management software crossed with a mapping application. What the military analyst building the target list sees is either a map layered with intelligence data or a screen organised into columns, each representing a stage of the targeting process. Individual targets move across the columns from left to right as they progress through each stage, a format borrowed from Kanban, a “lean manufacturing” workflow system developed at Toyota, and now widely used in software development.

Wow, this is powerful reporting. A sharp point about what the "banality of evil" looks like these days - agile software development processes repurposed to make it easy as possible to kill other humans.

I sure hope this pans out. Seems like a good move for him and more importantly an opportunity for Timbers to upgrade defensive coaching staff. I loved ridgy as a player and person but it's clear that our defense has been a fucking shambles since he's been on staff.

Reply to a reddit post. OP: "Just spent 30 minutes consoling my 8 year old who broke into tears after I broke the Evander news (Evander was his favorite player, was him for Halloween etc.). I’m personally on the if he doesn’t want to play I’m ok he’s gone, but this side of it sucks…"

And my reply: "earning to live with disappointment is an important part of growing up.

And an essential part of being a Portland sports fan."

Music On February 23…

My knowledge of these songs is not great (except for the Van Hagar one of course) but the recording/production styles are so period-specific it's pretty easy to place them.

Hah! At the time it came out, my friend group also refused to acknowledge H2's existence, referring to is as "the Scottish movie" - H3 being "the Scottish movie, part 2".
