Weird precognition thriller Next - just so it can have the title The Next Next

Beautiful blue skies over the River Crouch, overlaid with nerdy run stats
Blossom on the trees as the sun scatters through the increasingly less-bare branches
Happy and sweaty in purple, squinting in the beautiful early morning sunshine
Album cover for the new Enter Shikari album Lose Your Self
Morning #RunningPunks. After three weeks on #BrokenPunks recuperation bench, I decided it was time to give the knee a bit of a run. A little achy, not as much power, slightly out of balance, but damn it felt fabulous to be back out there. Mighty tunes from the latest Enter Shikari 🤘
Top tune!
Amazing progression, especially with that hill in the middle! 😲
Superb album! I’d add Long Live The Queen to your list, but the whole album is great, to be honest.
This has happened with one of my main friendship groups, although in our case, one friend removed himself from the group as we don’t share his views on small boats etc. We’ve known each other for 40 years but the difference in views became sadly insurmountable. Hope your other friends stick by you
Thank you. I definitely do not recommend it 😁 Managed to sleep a lot better with it last night and movement is a lot easier this morning.
Cheers. It’s better than it was, but it’s definitely not right yet.
On the #RunningPunks #BrokenPunks bench today. Turns out yesterday’s ParkRun pothole was bad enough to leave me limping for the rest of the day, so I have spent the day alternating between ice, compression and ibuprofen. Helped along by The Adventures of Young Indiana Jones and plenty of biscuits 🤘
BoC ParkRun course in orange, overlaid with nerdy run stats
ParkRun finish line in the sunshine
Beardy in sweaty yellow feeling old with a bad knee
Random shuffle on the ParkRun playlist
BoC #ParkRun time again, and a far from triumphant return as I hit a pothole badly about halfway round, wrenching my knee quite a lot. No permanent damage hopefully but I probably need to stay off it for a while 😔 Random shuffle on the ParkRun playlist threw out some absolute corkers! 🤘
The Clock Tower standing prettily under a clear blue sky, overlaid with nerdy run stats
Bright sun in a clear blue sky with a silhouette of a crane on the horizon
Gorgeous clear blue sky over the fields, with a long path stretching out ahead
Beardy in purple squinting into the sun out on the river path
Morning #RunningPunks. Took a chance on the eastward river path to see if it had stopped being swampy. Definitely paid off with reasonably solid underfoot and a gorgeous welcome change of scenery. Tunes from The Satanic Rites Of The Wildhearts 🤘
It’s on my wishlist!
Stunning step-up in pace near the end! Amazing run! 👏
10k+ route around the town in orange, overlaid with nerdy run stats
All quiet at the Creeksea junction, just trees, greenery, tarmac and telegraph poles
Beautiful green field and blue skies - got to love springtime
Nerdy pace charts showing the effects of gentlemen over the age of 50 increasing their pace across successive miles. Not at all competitive, honest…
Sunday Social with the Dengie 100 crowd. The clue should be in the name - this is just a nice social run on a Sunday morning… until you get a load of post-middle-aged men together in running shoes and everyone starts getting their competitive head on… 🤦♂️ Oh well, we had fun! 🤘
Have a great run! Hope you really enjoy it!
Blue skies over the BoC ParkRun downhill stretch
Blue skies and sun glare over Riverside Park
The pink vest of the ParkRun volunteer marshal
Beautiful morning for a #ParkRun #RunningPunks 🤘

Morning #RunningPunks. Back to the old faithful training loop to see how the system is holding up. It’s apparently doing fine. Tunes from Enter Shikari - The Mindsweeper, with a little of A Flash Flood Of Colour for the final stretch 🤘
Some muddy fun for a change this morning, overlaid with nerdy run stats
Beautiful wide horizon looking out towards the river mouth
Happy back on home turf, running back up the High Street past the clock tower for a change
Album cover of Moron Police - Defenders Of The Small Yard
Morning #RunningPunks. Slow and easy run today just checking for any damage after the weekend fun. No urgent warning lights flashing up on my internal dashboard, so that seems good. Some early Moron Police making me smile on the way around. 🤘
Greatest film ever, but possibly the worst guitar ever as well!
Ah, sorry. I misunderstood. As the other reply suggested on here, if you can sustain a solid 3 hours and still do sone other runs in the week, your legs are handling that cumulative mileage. Taper down in the last couple of weeks and they’ll be ready to handle the bigger distance in one go 🤘
I’ve done a few marathons over the years and generally aimed for about 20 - 22 miles (3hrs for the 20 mile mark) before starting the taper. Generally I have done fine with that, with no significant problems. I got a nasty leg cramp yesterday but no lasting damage. Certainly no legs falling off.
It’s only the ninth time they have run this course since 1908, but they are trying to make it a regular thing. Entries are open for next year if you’re interested. www.originalmarathon.com
It’s a really lovely event. A little weird as none of the roads are closed off, so you’re waiting for traffic lights regularly to let you cross some roads and at a couple of points running down busy high streets dodging other pedestrians, but it was done well.
The route from Windsor to White City, now unfortunately more than 27 miles
Down past the castle on the opening stretch
A runner getting a quick pic of the black arrow-shaped sign which is the only one remaining from the 1908 Olympics
Sweaty tired beardy holding a hard-earned medal at the finish line
Evening #RunningPunks. Had a wonderful time today doing the Original 1908 London Marathon, which follows (as close as possible) the route from Windsor Castle to White City taken by the Olympic runners which set the standard of 26.2 miles. Bit longer now due to pesky motorways but otherwise lovely.
You could almost afford a beer in London now
Run report for this evening including nerdy run stats
Lights of the runner in front through the mist. Not even sure if this is the right way up
Lights of the runners ahead with lights of the town through the mist
Album cover of The Wildhearts - Renaissance Men
Evening #RunningPunks. 3 days to go, and just 3 miles on the taper plan today, so a lovely excuse for getting back to the D100 Wednesday Social which I haven’t done for months. Unsurprisingly, photos on the move in the dark don’t come out well, but The Wildhearts in the ears did wonders for pace 🤘
Superb collection. The acoustic version of The Circle is beautiful
Sunrise over the park alongside the boatyard, overlaid with nerdy run stats
Sunrise from the marina end of the prom, with gorgeous blossom on the tree to the right of the path
Slightly smug smile of the beardy who appreciates that there’s only a four-mile leg stretch required today. Leaning boat behind continues to lean
Album cover for Enter Shikari’s The Mindsweeper
Morning #RunningPunks and what a morning it is out there. The sun wasn’t long risen, there was blossom on the trees, a refreshing chill still in the air, and I only had four miles scheduled on the taper plan. They were good ones, powered by the mighty Enter Shikari - The Mindsweeper 🤘
Amazing distance, Dr. Pete! Hope you have plenty of treats to relax with now
