“I’ll tell you what invites further instability, a vote for Winston Peters that could result in a Labour Party Māori Green government. And all he is doing is courting votes and trying to cause mischief that way.

“He’s just mischief-making. There is an emphatic affirmation of support for the Prime Minister and the leadership. And what he’s doing, and it’s very transparent, is he’s saying vote for New Zealand First.

“Now that’s his job. My job is to say vote for National. And I am pointing out that the risk with a vote for New Zealand First is it’s a risk to prop up a Labour-led government that brings us back to economic instability, more taxes. more borrowing, a weaker economy.” Nicola Willis on RNZ Morning Report

Fairly sure "more borrowing" and a "weaker economy" is what we got with this government, Nicola. #nzpol

I'd love to post the content of this clap trap, but close your eyes & pretend you're in a pub, the air thick with cigarette smoke, there's an old man sitting at the corer of the bar, last inch of a ciggy waggling on his bottom lip as he pours himself another 7oz glass of Lion Red from his jug, ranting to anyone within air shot about the communists & socialists are ruining the country & that wokeism will destroy us all, except no one is listening, in fact there's a juke box on & Chumbawumba, the socialist band from England's biggest hit is playing & folk are singing along while others are playing darts & yet others are chowing down in a basket of hot fries. A young girl asks her mum & dad 'whose that old man in the corner talking to himself, he looks kinda sad' & the dad smiles 'he's a man who thought he as someone once, ignore him sweetie, we all do'.

Bye, Felicia you're done old man - irrelevant.

So there you have it, vacuous pandering to the casseroles who have all turned up to his FB with their napkins ready to dine in his anti-woke rhetoric.

Helluva ploy for a party on 8-10% & National going to loose the election.

A woodcut illustration of a man lighting the back of a bell-shaped iron fixture attached to a castle door.

Fun fact: a Petard is an early shaped charge, used to breach heavy doors.

To be hoisted by your own petard means, literally, "blew yourself the fuck up."

At least 254 killed in Israel’s devastating attacks across Lebanon Israel carries out 100 strikes across Lebanon in 10 minutes, health minister says hospitals overwhelmed with victims.

Where to find the words anymore?

What to say when Israel continues to behave like this?

And no condemnation at all from the UK Government. They carry on business as usual as if Israel aren't carrying out genocides in both Gaza and Lebanon.

Business leaders urge government to prioritise food supply in fuel plan BusinessNZ has made its case to ministers as to why the food and grocery sector should be put in the highest priority level of any fuel rationing framework.

I would have hoped that a government in a period of national emergency would have realised that food supply for the population is a high priority. But if it needs that explained to it, I am glad someone explained that starving people is a problem.

When I realised Margaret Thatcher was dead, I did a double fist pump and shouted "Fucking brilliant!" Everyone around me was disgusted, and, looking back, I suppose it was out of order. Especially as I was the first paramedic at the scene.

BP shareholders advised to vote against chair over climate resolution exclusion Glass Lewis says blocking of proposal to share company’s longer-term strategy at AGM raises transparency issues

BP not only gives up on responding to climate change in any meaningful way - it now won't even let its own shareholders vote on the strategy. Utterly shameful. Don't do business with them.

Luxon rejects Te Pāti Māori call for MP pay freeze Te Pāti Māori called for an immediate freeze on MP, Ministers and the Prime Minister’s pay bump that they will all be receiving later on in the year.

I understand that, in theory, MP salaries should be high and set independently. But when those same MPs are consistently offering nurses, teachers, doctors, public servants, etc pay cuts, they can get stuffed.

Imagine if a left coalition had been voted in at the last election - we’d have
- an electric hybrid ferry
- be 2.5 years further into renewables
- a better economy to face this fuel crisis
- less poverty & homelessness
- a govt taking proactive steps for the crisis
- a more positive outlook
