Elisabetta Degasperi from the D-SOLVE consortium presents at EASL congress 2025 in Amsterdam
📢 EASL Congress: E. Degasperi from our #D-SOLVE Consortium presents results from a large real-life cohort on clinical outcomes of chronic hepatitis D patients. Rates of cirrhosis & liver-related events were lower than expected. ALT, age & HDV RNA were key determinants. #EASL2025 #HepatitisResearch
Significant findings for our #D-SOLVE project: Scientists from #TWINCORE developed a stem cell-based model for the #HepatitisD virus, revealing the transcription factor IRF1 as a target for new treatments, also in association with Hepcludex. More info: twincore.de/news/better-...

Have discovered how the drug Bulevirtid alleviates liver inflammation in Hepatitis D infections: (from left) Professor Dr. Heiner Wedemeyer, Po-Chun Chen, and Dr. Norman Woller. Copyright: Karin Kaiser / MHH
Researchers from Hannover Medical School (MHH) identified a marker on NK cells showing how Bulevirtid alleviates liver inflammation in Hepatitis D. Bulevirtid blocks viral entry and reduces inflammation, even with high viral load, by activating the immune marker TIGIT. More info: bit.ly/40VPqi3.
We are dedicated to advancing research in hepatitis D, and this platform will serve as our hub for sharing research findings and the latest insights into our ongoing projects.
