I don’t “network,” I make friends. Other artists are not my competition, they’re my beloved peers and sources of inspiration. We all have the same goal; to share our art. I’m not gonna corporatize my human relationships with them. I am in my sandbox playing and I hope they join me.

Realistically, the choice is never between science and human spaceflight. They're budgeted separately, and championed by different interests, which is why the NASA science budget specifically is being cut and spaceflight specifically isn't.

I kind of think this is an important point to reiterate. It's never "rockets vs science." And sometimes (like with the Artemis II mission), there is science that can piggy-back on missions where enabling human spaceflight is the primary goal. The proposed science cuts are just about cutting science.

I've seen a lot of criticism of Artemis II saying that more science per $ could be done with robotic exploration than with human spaceflight, and while that's very likely true, it's not a trade-off being proposed. Admin wanting human spaceflight gets human spaceflight; science budgets are separate.

New Glenn GS1 booster "Never Tell Me The Odds" has returned to Port Canaveral following the NG-3 mission, having launched on April 19.

MUCH faster turnaround time bringing Jacklyn into port compared to NG-2!

Firm believer that if a company gets a tax write off to never release a movie or animated series it should go into a tax funded free streaming service managed by the library of congres because the tax payers bought the rights.

Kākāpō Files II 15 | Kākāpō Island Diary episode of Wild Sounds: Kākāpō Files II Alison Ballance spends a week on Whenua Hou/Codfish Island, one of three kākāpō breeding islands. She follows rangers from DOC’s Kākāpō Recovery Programme as they go about their daily and nightly nest...

Kākāpō action this week is about the chicks - all 94 of them.

I've just spent a week on Whenua Hou, recording with kākāpō rangers as they work day and night to ensure the chicks survive and thrive.

CDC won’t publish report showing covid shots cut likelihood of hospital visits The report, which had cleared the agency’s scientific-review process, had been delayed. It now won’t be published at all, people familiar with the decision told The Post.

Hmm, I wonder why…

Feeling bombarded by too much bad news, so I'm soothing myself with pictures by Henriëtte Ronner-Knip, one of the standout animal painters of the 19th century. I'm loving the loose, gestural brushstrokes she used in both of these paintings of kittens

It's still so crazy that in 2024 a huge chunk of bsky's userbase hit a peak of "we're ready to pay subscriptions for bigger features and support the platform, just tell us when it drops 🫡" and then within six months the Bsky team gleefully cut through all that good will with surgical precision
