People often tell me they wished they'd known about a show, a new song release etc. So, good news! I send out (every 6 wks or so) a newsletter with my latest news & it lands RIGHT in your inbox. Sign up to "Notes From The Keys". It takes about 1 min: mailchi.mp/jeffstraker/...

Folks showing up at a show is an honour. Folks showing up with a gift of homemade baking - well that takes the cake (ha!). Thank you Margie Bee for this dainty-tray-to-go! ❤️❤️

Holy smokes thank you Saskatoon for selling out the room last night! Grace Westminster was a gorgeous space to make music in - loved it. And the audience singing complete with harmonies was tops! #saskatoon #livemusic
New Shipment: Courier arrived with a delivery that's not so common as streaming services strangle the music world: an order of another 1000 CDs of my last album "Great Big Sky"; I'd run
out. Thk u to everyone who’s supported me by paying for music & keeping me going! #piano
Phew...Trump said he wasn't portraying himself as Jesus in this pic. Rather it was a Doctor he was posing as...resurrecting a man with his miracle hands, angels floating in the sky. Riiiiight. He oughta focus his miracle powers on resurrecting his polling numbers🤣(PS: is that Epstein on the bed?!)

Just announced! May 1 show in the best-named Saskatchewan town of all: CARROT RIVER! Fun fact: my mom was born in this town & my grandparents (mom's parents) lived here. I spent summers in the area; fun to head back. Shout-out to folks in nearby Nipawin & Tisdale! Tickets: www.jeffstraker.com/shows/
After Easter dinner we had an Olympic calibre #crokinole tournament. I had a trophy made & the whole 9 yards. Strict crokinole rules at play including the “1 cheek rule” (at least 1 butt cheek must be on your chair when shooting). Bask in your glory Brian & Yvonne, we’re coming for you next time…
Big Festival Announcement to share! I'm looking forward to performing at Folk On The Rocks this July in Yellowknife NWT. Everyone I know who has been to this fest says it's the bees knees. Can't wait to head up to the 'land of the midnight sun' July 17-19. Grab yer tickets! #folk #piano
Big space launch & there's a cool #Saskatchewan connection to NASA. Bricks from the Claybank SK brickworks (with their high heat resistance) were hauled to Cape Canaveral in 1965 to help build launchpad 39A at Kennedy Space Centre (30 ft deep!) I've included more about this in the attachment!
I find the complaints about the AirCanada CEO not speaking enough french kinda odd: 2300+ official complaints. By contrast Canada's Governor General had 400 complaints for not speaking French & her French is still terrible.Maybe I'm missing something-Why is the AC CEO issue bigger than the GG issue?
When we were kids if we were crying about something mom would say: "if you don't stop crying I'll give you something to cry about" HA! It's so friggin funny in hindsight. I'm sure moms would get arrested today for saying it! lol Just a poetic way of saying "stop being such a drama queen" #parenting
Estevan Saskatchewan I'm heading your way and bringing the whole band for this show, April 15! Can't wait. Big thx to the Estevan Arts Council for presenting this show! #estevan #piano #livemusic

woot! sending out a huge thank-you to Creative Saskatchewan. They awarded me funding to support a 9-date tour taking my music to the Maritimes. Touring is an expensive endeavour & this support helps take home-spun culture across the country & beyond. THANKS to the jury & the Tour Support Program
I renewed my NEXUS card-for anyone wondering about processing times,it took...1 DAY!💥 No idea how US Homeland Security does it so fast. I was deemed to not need an interview AND for some reason they also refunded me $70 of the $120 fee. Wow! Sharing in case it helps folks nearing renewal #nexus
My original song "One Foot on Main Street” got licensed for use in the opening credits of a series called "MuniCast"-about how cities, towns & villages bring folks together. The show airs on Rogers TV & youtube (SUMA, MuniCast). Thx for thinking of my song for this! (take a peek at the video)
This audience sang like a legit choir - Bella Concert Hall, Calgary AB. Wow, Great job🔥🎶

This is my Grandpa Buck's WW2 RCAF ring. A sterling silver original stamped with the "Per Ardua ad Astra" motto (through adversity to the stars). It's 80 years old this year #history #lestweforget #ww2
I'm heading out on the road with a few shows coming up! If you know folks in these parts, please let 'em know I'm coming. All dates have on-line ticketing #piano #livemusic #edmonton #saskatoon
In Saskatchewan the big bold horizon can almost convince you that the Earth is flat. It seems like something you can get to if you walk far enough, but you’ll never quite get there. It underlines the great big sky and reminds us how small we are in the grand scheme of things. What a sight!
My pal Gary took me to the National Ballet last night at the Four Seasons Centre downtown TO. They performed ‘Pinocchio’ (Canadianized a fair bit🇨🇦). It was so fantastic! We had Killer front row seats=got to gawk into the orchestra pit. Whole thing was extraordinary. Nevermind that room!! Thk u Gary
A concert in a historic 1922 Saskatchewan grain elevator & a vintage train ride in a 1925 Pullman coach. Ride to this unique show in style! These sold-out the past 2 summers & we're thrilled to partner with Southern Prairie Railway to do it again.

Mrs T! I played a show in the Kelliher SK Legion Hall and this kind gal (they call her "Mrs T" locally) baked me some matrimonial cake cuz she somehow heard I love the stuff. I'll never get over #Saskatchewan folks kindness & generosity. Fills my belly, fills up my heart! Thk u Mrs T❤️
