Public Information and Warning: Sexual Offender released For Immediate Release: 02-Apr-2026 @ 3:00 PM MRU #: H260002 In the interest of public safety, the Edmonton Police Service is issuing the following warning: Alfred David White, 39, is a convicted child sex offender, and the Edmonton Police Service has reasonable grounds to believe he will commit another sexual offence against a child while in the community. In 2018, White committed sexual offences against children in Calgary. He was subsequently arrested and convicted in 2020, receiving a two‑year custodial sentence. While on judicial interim release, White committed additional offences in Calgary involving the possession of child pornography between 2019 and 2020. He was convicted of these offences in 2021 and received an additional 15‑month consecutive sentence. Following his statutory release in 2022, White reoffended in 2023 by accessing and uploading child pornography. He was arrested and in early January 2024 was convicted of possessing child pornography and breaching a prohibition order and was sentenced to 27 months incarceration.
Upon White’s release, he will reside in Edmonton.
