What do the cuts to #NIH #indirectcosts mean? Science is a lot like trying to make a cake. Direct costs cover the ingredients and bakers, but indirects cover everything else: oven, bowl, spoons, electricity, the building, dishwasher, etc. You can’t make a cake without covering both. #SupportResearch

In her very short tenure, Dr. Bertagnolli accomplished many things, but I’m so sad to see her leave this #NIH post before she could bring many of them to fruition. 😢
