Hey #kidlit illustrators, I’d like to gift a free, one-hour, portfolio-review/coaching-session.
1) reply with samples of your art.
2) repost this message.
I’ll pick a winner at random next week from those who do both. Win or lose, I’ll take a close look at every reply.

There’s tons of rhyming picture books and board books published.. but only a handful of poetry collections like Shel Silverstein or Chris Harris. Anyone know why? I love poetry collections and always wondered .. why not more?

After researching all day I'll give this a shot: Anyone know of the perfect agent who might be interested in an illustrator who also authors humorous children's poetry? In the vein of Silverstein and Chris Harris? Thanks everyone! :)

I still think Freehand > Adobe illustrator. I’ll fight anyone who says otherwise! 😒
I read about it. Heard about it. Expected it.. and that emergency alert still scared the crap outta me.

Great idea! Weird thing .. I just spotted this book at B&N yesterday.. about a Free Little Library and a kid who finds a book that changes his life. Might make a great addition!

Something when I walk Reminds me of a clock An incessant hollow tickety sound A quiet little knock As I wander up the block With no cause that could ever be found. I feel numbers on my face. That emerge with every pace And every hour I let out a chime. The noise may seem poor taste. But if I’m invited to your place. At least you know I’ll show up on time.
There’s a very specific Aphex Twin song I hear in my head when I read this.. hope y’all like it! #kidlit #kidlitart #poetry #childrensbooks
The Land Between There’s a kindly old gnome. Who lives in a tiny home. Between awake and the land of sleep. And in this snow driven land. You can visit the little man. When you need some company to keep. The house smells of his pipe. And the candles he lights. That give off a warm gentle glow. Then if you desire. As you sit by his fire. He’ll Tell you stories from long ago. As you prepare to depart. And grab your hat and scarf. “Sweet Dreams” the old gnome will always say. Then as your dream grows near. The foul weather will clear. And you’ll go along your merry way.
Greetings Blue Sky! Hoping to find a community of poet artists round here! 😀
