From Scarlett:
She pulled out shot glasses, lining them up on the counter with the swiftness of a card dealer. At the edge of her sight, Kristen poked around the suitcases.
“Now, now. Do you want to snoop through my stuff, or do you wanna get drunk?”

From The Human Soul:
"We have plenty of prisoners to execute to appease them, and when we reach Earth there will be executions enough to feed even the most rampant bloodlust, to fulfill justice tenfold.”

From Scarlett (convertible instead of convert):
A man who definitely looked constipated stood in the lot next to a red convertible, about four rows back. As they came piling out of the door his look changed to astonishment.

From Amaranth:
He batted it away and tried to step forward, but creeper ivy vines had tangled up his legs and feet. Grass and plants had sprouted all over, and were growing still, transforming the dining room into a small, indoor woodland.

From The Legend of Oakfallow:
“A gun. Really? What am I going to use this for? Against who? Film crew and psychics? You think Lady Winternight is going to be frightened of a gun?”

From Human Heart:
She didn’t know what to do. The rakir had initiated hostilities, and threatening the life of one of the royal family was certainly a good way to get them to stop, but more questions than she had answers for darted through her mind.

From Human Heart:
"An unarmed, sick, weak, even dying opponent is still capable of killing you. Never assume. Assumptions end in mission failure. Dropping your guard based on assumptions ends in mission failure. Mission failure is not an option."

From Scarlett:
As the world swam, he cupped her chin, and gave it a gentle shake.
“This means so little. If we had time, and more privacy, I would be redefining pain and suffering for you. Today is not the day for that, alas.”

From Scarlett:
Anne suddenly wished she had taken her up on her offer of a butterscotch. Her mouth was as dry as a desert, - too dry to speak the word that hung on her lips, despite her best efforts.
Is anyone else mad at the fact that they have to pay federal taxes for bullshit they don't want? Like new ballrooms, the Gestapo, child torture, and human trafficking.
I wanna pay for education, social services, UBI, and universal health care! I'm so gotdamn mad right now, I need to lie down.
Crockett: "The US is falling apart, partially bc he's allowing for killings in the street, but also bc we have a 34 count convicted felon being shielded from any type of accountability as it relates to a child sex trafficking ring. I don't understand why we're pretending any of this is normal."
After latest release country should move on to Epstein trials.

At the very least, Congress must disarm ICE, prohibit it from using racial or ethnic profiling, end arrest quotas, remove agents’ immunity from criminal prosecution and civil lawsuits, and slash its funding. The Senate has the chance to rein in ICE this week.
Keep calling: (202) 224-3121
Reporter: You received a letter from AG Pam Bondi making several demands….
Walz: I would just give a pro tip to the AG. There's 2 million documents in the Epstein files we're still waiting on. Go ahead and work on those
AOC: An agency that is attacking U.S. citizens, kidnapping five-year-olds and using them as bait, and privately circulating the idea that they can violate the rights of Americans by busting down their doors—they deserve to be defunded, and I’ll take any step in that direction.
In solidarity with today's ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA blackout, MinnMax is donating $1 to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota for every share of this Bluesky post for the next hour.

From So My Grandma Summoned a Demon:
Comfortable chairs no one used spotted the lobby floor, surrounding low tables no one ever set anything on, which themselves were centered with tastefully arranged flowers no one ever looked at.

We haven't got one for 1/5 yet, so I just picked a random line.
From Scarlett:
“I’m thinking tonight is going to be interesting.”
Interesting, he says, but he’s grinning like a ten-year-old boy who’s decided to try sledding down the stairs on his mother’s silver serving tray.

From Ink in a Black Sea:
It wasn’t a smell at all, but the lack of one. For the first time in all his memory, the scent of home—salt waves and wet sand; tidepools and drying rocks; fish, devil meat, and smoke; sweaty boys and sweatier men—had disappeared.

From Ink in a Black Sea:
Reklin didn’t seem to have time for lessons or bungle ball, or to even speak to those who had never touched a devilling ship. He’d promised he’d always be one of them, but had traded in his scythe for an eye-blade as long as his calf.

Happy New Year! From Amaranth:
Only when Stella’s arm came around her shoulders again did Eva begin to follow. Duncan’s ghost, unseen and unfelt by any but her, came patiently after.

From Scarlett:
"Using a high-powered rifle you take down a gazelle they can scarcely see. To them, the rifle would be incomprehensible. Killing at such a distance and with no effort would be supernatural.”
“So, you’re saying that Scarlett is a time traveler?”

From Ink in a Black Sea:
“It’s called Nös. The language, I mean,” Reklin had said. “No one can speak it in full anymore. Well, no one but true descendants of Cimbrea, like the queen.”

From Amaranth:
Across the square from Stella, a group of dirty men with calloused hands and overalls gathered. Workers, bussed out of the slums during shift hours for construction labor, digging ditches, tending landscapes, or going down into sewage pipes.

From Amaranth:
The Black City stood at the end of the Grimling Road, that lonely path through the Otherworld all dead were bound to walk. The gates in its outer wall would never close, they said, until the last living thing in all worlds had passed through them.

From Scarlett:
“Quite a few things, actually. Medicines and new medical techniques, various technologies. Predominantly in this facility, we research ways to help a very particular individual, and provide that help to this individual when needed.”
