An even more sinister element here: hiding behind the allegation that Columbia is antisemitic is the reality that the student body at Columbia, at ~25%, is more Jewish than at any other Ivy League. A common trope of antisemitism is to justify hurtful action by claiming to protect Jews.
This federal targeting of an institution like Columbia U is terrifying. This kind of cut to federal funding for the university is an existential threat to its operations and is meant to terrorize all universities and, frankly, all of us. (1/2)
