"Europe was a train unable to leave the station when the report came out. People were in absolute denial, they wouldn't believe that things were bad. Now that stage is overcome. The train left the station and is slowly moving outward" Mario Draghi www.youtube.com/watch?v=5-qT...

Great work by @akorinek.bsky.social providing an extremely useful guide on how to use natural language instructions for economic research!
Very excited that our paper (joint with Jarkko Harju and โช@schoefer.bsky.socialโฌ) on "Voice at Work" is published in the American Economic Journal: Applied Economics. We study what happened when workers in Finnish firms got a right to worker voice on the corporate board. ๐

- long considered the โClimate Bankโ, will it continue to play this role also in the future given the pushback on the Green agenda?
- how does the EIB operate in such an uncertain environment in which Alliances are being redrawn and fundamental values we thought we shared are put into question?
how their institution is positioned to tackle the current challenges.
Two very interesting conversations, in which we examined:
- how the geopolitical upheaval is exerting pressure to shift away from the twin transition and focus resources on European security and defence.
to digest and analyse the latest announcement but immediately requires a plan of action.
As part of the LSE German Society Annual Symposium and a week later the United Italian Societies one, I had the opportunity to ask two Vice Presidents of the @eib.org, Nicola Beer and Gelsomina Vigliotti,
There is no doubt we are living in turbulent times.
Over the last weeks and probably even more in the last days there is certainly a feeling that the geopolitical and economic landscape is being transformed at an unprecedented speed, a sort of Zeitenwende on steroids that does not leave much room

My contribution In Search of Security: The Migration Conundrum and the Need for a Global Response to the latest issue of EconPol Forum @cesifo.org: www.cesifo.org/en/publicati...
However, there is a protracted inability to move from a crisis management situation to a sustainable global governance of migration.
(The sense of) Security is simultaneously the foremost concern for citizens in destination countries, who feel threatened by migrants and refugees and call on their leaders to regain control by erecting barriers and closing borders, and also the driving force behind migratory flows.
From "It's the economy, stupid" to "It's the migration, stupid". Looking at the electoral cycles around Europe and the globe in the last years migration has taken centre stage in a polarised public debate.
