That is one of the questions students asked in advance of a panel discussion I will attend tomorrow. It breaks my heart that they even have to worry about this. What a failure by my and previous generations. 😓

Folks: do not sleep on this amazing new tool launched by Al Gore called "Climate Trace". I have never seen an emissions map quite like this. Uses satellites and *assigns emissions to company sources* (!!)

Forests can lose their temperature buffering function when soils become drier.
This is bad news in a changing climate with more frequent and severe soil drought.
We brought out the bird telescope last night and looked at jupiter with its 4 biggest moons on the balcony. No aurora but a bit of space appreciation :-D
