Last week, members of our PPIE group had the pleasure of presenting at the International Creative Methods Conference.
exploring how creative methodologies can offer powerful alternatives to traditional research approaches

Congratulations to Victoria Bartle, PPIE member, for being awarded the Fuse Director Award.
In recognition of the significant contributions she's made to public engagement in @fuseonline.bsky.social and other research projects strengthening the representation of public voice in research.
If you haven't been along to one of our Academic Career Development Open Sessions on the 1st Thursday of every month, come along. June's session is one not to be missed.

Nick Reynolds on stage presenting findings from the AI MULTIPLY project.
Co-l Prof Nick Reynolds @nihrnewcastlebrc.bsky.social presented findings from @qmul.ac.uk collaborators on analysing #readmission using #burstydynamics: it's not just about events, it's about patterns too! #clinicians do this subliminally - can we define it informatically& #informpractice? #MLTC #AI
Great poster presentations from Carly Flowers and Kieran Richards and excellent discussions with our #PPIE contributors at the #AIMRSF #MLTC From Research2Reality conference in Birmingham!
Members of the AI MULTIPLY team with PPIE contributors from our Newcastle and London groups
We caught up with our #socialactionforhealth #PPIE collaborators who were here for the day yesterday in Birmingham. It was a great day with interesting talks with an important focus on #LivedExperience in #MLTC #research
Day 2 of the #MLTC From Research to Reality conference kicks off the #carepathways session with the #ADMISSION project from @nihrnewcastlebrc.bsky.social @newcastleuni.bsky.social with transforming understanding of MLTCs in a hospital setting. Looking forward to the day ahead!
Great flash talk from one of our PPIE contributors, Sue Mountain B.E.M., on AI MULTIPLY's research collaboration with #PPIE & #ECR members of the team - mutual benefits in terms of research education & public opinions included in the decisions being made about the data and AI models
Picture of AI for Multiple Long-Term Conditions (AIM) Programme booklet created by the AIM Research Support Facility (RSF)
Really interesting talk from Emma Karoune from #Turing AIM RSF on lessons learned in #AI in #MLTC #research - human infrastructure and employing individuals with relevant skills from the project outset is key to being data ready & subsequent successful research delivery
We had a really varied panel discussion touching on the issues faced by those with #MLTC and how things could be improved. A role for medication reviews, and the social and education systems were emphasised as was the importance of active patients and support for self care.
The message from the #MLTC #PPIE panel: 1) Better #health education, information & encourage self-advocacy for patients & carers, 2) Link all #data together, across health & #socialcare, #dentistry etc so health & social care professionals can make better informed decisions for individual patients
PPIE contributors on stage for the panel discussion at the MLTC conference
Hearing from Victoria & Dave from our #PPIE management group & other contributors in the panel discussion on #MLTClivedexperience, led by @monicafletcher.bsky.social #NIHR #AIinHealth #MLTC
We're at the #AIMRSF #MLTC From Research2Reality conference in Birmingham! Our #PPIE contributors are in the panel discussion & presenting findings from our PPIE x #ECR collab, there's a PI project update & lessons learned from the PM team! Looking forward2finding out about research elsewhere in #AI
Very powerful video shared by @francesmair.bsky.social in her #UKSBM2025 plenary on the challenges of managing multiple health conditions, particularly on the poverty line.
We have to tackle poverty&inequality to improve our public health.
