April is Earth Month
Earth stories.
Waterfalls, trees, deserts.
Exploration.
A plea, a promise, a love letter, a warning.
Today's thought: 1.5 flash stories done.
Sit daily. 'Do not disturb' sign. Cell off.

Always wait. Then panic. Then wait. If you can work on a new book altogether, then I'd do that. Good distraction. Congrats for the work you've done so far.

...Carney's just another businessman in a sea of conservative entitlement. He, like Smith, Ford and the tech bros see our countries and the citizenry as means to a end for profit and business deals. The CBC can remind them that we want more and are much more than that.
10/10
...I question the reasoning behind constantly harping on the budget of the CBC. We need to put more money into the expression of who we are as a culture than taking it away especially now. You'd think that politicians would jump at the chance...
9/10
...I wish there were more of projects like this envisioned in the rooms of the CBC.
CBC can & should celebrate what it means to be Canadian. Politicians should recognize that & keep their paws off it.
I don't see the reason to continue to make it the scapegoat of budgetary considerations...
8/10
...who have a vision of this country outside the political sphere. The world we as regular citizen experience it.
I respect and find comfort in knowing that the CBC is out there. Things like W5 and The Nature of Things kept the Canadian voice and vision alive...
7/10
...to express the world the way I see it.
I'm not blind to the CBC's conservative, corporate mandate--politicians should love it more, but I see more the individuals who are trying to keep the CBC relevant in a changing world from a Canadian POV...
6/10
...We have a distinct vision of the world because of our experience of it is different not only because of our heritage (diverse, inclusive) but because of where we are in the world.
I don't listen to the CBC all the time, I rely on Independent Canadian journalists...
5/10
...Not only in how the CBC expresses how we see our world in the news but in stories, events, happenings, culture. News, documentaries (Canadians excel at this), fictional narrative. Writers, directors, actors, creatives, art...
4/10
...We have distinguished ourselves politically as Peace Keepers and allies. But more and more our political stance is status quo. We have to maintain our distinct voice. Quebec knows how to do it (flawed but still), Canada needs that distinctive voice. CBC is that...
3/10
...so that we can keep in touch w what's happening in our own country. We have been all but swallowed up by the horrible behemoth to the south of us. For years, we struggled to stay relevant in the world bc of the constant barrage of content...
2/10
Carney said he wouldn't cut the budget of the CBC. He said he would give more money to it.
The CBC is not only the news to me. It's about how we identify ourselves as Canadian. Giving priority to Canadian voices, stories, events, happenings...
