I'm looking forward to widebody services returning to my local airport of WLG in NZ now that they've installed EMAS. <3 Probably won't be happening for a few years given the current state of the world though. :|

Well that was bad to find out. The Petone to Grenada link road will have no parallel path for pedestrians or cyclists. I was told be NZTA staff that you will be allowed to walk or cycle along the road. Including through the two tunnels. 🤦 #wellington #poneke
It’s good to have Wellington Central Library back. ❤️
Well that's interesting. In adjusted amounts for FY90/91, WCC spent $195,303,173 on staff remuneration. In FY24/25? $195,493,000. So even though the city has got a lot bigger and council is expected to do a hell of a lot more, the staff cost hasn't changed. #nzpol
Reading old council reports can be an eye opener sometimes. The 1990/1991 WCC Annual Report highlights that 4.3km of sewer pipes were repaired or replaced. No wonder we're literally in the shit now. archivesonline.wcc.govt.nz/nodes/view/1... #nzpol
NZ mentioned! Oh, wait. 😬🤮
He thinks he’s king.
So this happened after you finished recording the FR24 podcast, right? :|
It's the most effective way to spur investment and innovation in one's own country. Make everything chaos and random. 🤦🤦🤦
I look forward to the chaos this creates for US airlines. Especially if it includes all CRJ and A220 models. Just insane.

Not exactly the same as what you're asking, but Android has a feature that can automatically record up to 45 minutes of footage, and automatically share with your emergency contacts. Triggered by pressing the power button 5 times. Located under Safety & Emergency settings.
I found a recording of the current US ICE recruitment process. youtu.be/bcokL59jeqU 😐🤢
I’m just annoyed the ransom is only $60,000. Is health data so low value these days? 🤔😉
Three bikes stored in the Matangi bike section. Fully using the capacity.
Random weekend Metlink service. Bike capacity fully used.
The Wellington Airport windsock fully unfurled due to the regular high winds. METAR was showing 24knots of wind at 360 degrees at the time of the picture.
Just normal WLG/NZWN wind. I swear you could replace the windsock with a painted bit of plywood and it would be weeks until anyone noticed. 🤣 #avgeek
Ended up uploading this incident by itself as it was so egregious. It's pretty galling to keep experiencing this when councillor Tony Randle is proud for having stopped safe cycling infrastructure in Jville. www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8-3... Police complaint already laid. #nzpol
Normal shortsighted National thinking. The long term solution clearly requires 2 more lanes. :P
And my latest experience of drivers not giving a fuck. youtu.be/NzwKSEksHbQ Got to love it when you're in the cyclelane and they'll still effectively try to run you over. 😐 #cycling #fuckcars #wellington #poneke
A tweet from Anonymous says: “They can’t do it.” The attached four-panel meme shows a cartoon character wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat. In the first panel, text says “SAY ‘MERRY CHRISTMAS!’” and the character looks neutral. In the second panel, another character says “SAY ‘NAZIS ARE BAD.’” The final two panels show the MAGA character looking angry and refusing to speak.
Why can’t they say it?
Sadly I doubt the other two candidates will consider this when making their votes when representing the ward. :(
The new Wellington City Council will include 5 Labour councillors and 4 Green councillors, plus Andrew Little, giving the two party "coalition" an increased governing majority - 10 out of 16 votes, compared to 8 under the previous council.
Congrats to @ponekeben.bsky.social for being re-elected in the first round for Takapū ward. Might not always agree with him but he's got a solid brain and heart. 👍👍 #nzpol
Seeing @ponekeben.bsky.social get over twice as many votes as the next two candidates is pretty impressive. Of course the conservative bloc will ignore the clear intention of the electorate as a whole.
A bright orange wheelie rubbish bin. Chained closed and chained to a pole. A slot has been cut in the lid. The bin is covered in stickers informing people that local government election ballots for Wellington can be dropped off in it. Located in the Johnsonville Library.
Behold! The rubbish bin of democracy! #nzpol Not quite as cool as the biscuit tin of democracy. But it's still neat.
In today’s NZ Herald
I was watching a recovered film about aircraft emergency kit maintenance during WWII and it had some banger lines. 🤣
