This year's #kakapo breeding season has been the biggest on record:
- 256 eggs (252 in 2019)
- 148 fertile eggs (116 in 2019)
- 105 eggs hatched (86 in 2019).
It'll be 2+ months until we know how many chicks will fledge (73 in 2019). There are currently 95 alive. #conservation #kakapo2026 #birds

I remember seeing a documentary about atari in the 70s, and one of the old programmers remarked something like "nobody tell the boss we'd do this for free". We can do so much better than letting passionate people die\wither away for the lie of money.

Why are we allowing the shittiest group of people ruin everything for the rest of us?

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Trump has his Cabinet and flunkies out on the Sunday news justifying genocide, "wiping a civilization off the face of the Earth."

Little do they know, they are convicting themselves, on camera, for a lifetime in prison, conspiracy to commit war crimes.

Your time is coming. You are going down.

Globe showing the Atlantic Ocean with arrows depicting the AMOC circulation: warm surface currents (pink/red) flowing northward from the tropics toward the Arctic, and cold deep return currents (blue/purple) flowing southward. The background shows sea surface temperature trends, with a prominent blue cold patch, the "cold blob", south of Greenland, contrasting with warming (orange/red) across the rest of the ocean.

1/ There's a system of ocean currents in the Atlantic that shapes Europe's #climate, drives monsoons, and keeps sea levels stable along the US coast.

In the last 5 years, the scientific evidence that it could collapse has shifted dramatically.

Most people have no idea. 🧵

For me it’s mutually assured destruction.

If you support genocidal governments I will not support you. Even if the genocidal government is my government. Which is why I don’t support my government.

If we all gotta go down that’s what it is then. But I’m not choosing to sacrifice other people.

Im still pretty skeptical of its widespread use, but its got some applications. The question "if the paths to prosperity dry up whats the point of all this?" gets at the core of the anxiety imo. Capitalism seems to be eating itself. We're gonna have to come up with a diff system or have chaos.

What would be great is if we had some sort of Turing-type test as a populist failsafe for the 25th Amendment. Like you show 100,000 people in every state an obviously insane, illogical statement & if a certain percentage of them genuinely react as if it’s the President of the United States, he’s out

Can you imagine if we actually prosecuted the Epstein class? Like 85% of societies ills would vanish overnight.

Glad so much of our time and energy in the 21st century go to arguing about the preferences of some people's imaginary friends.

This is culturally really dangerous. Functioning societies depend on most people mostly following the rules even when they could probably get away with not doing so. That breaks down very fast once a critical mass decide that makes them saps and suckers.

This is one of countless examples of your surrender to the least-valuable members of our species. I would encourage you to do better but we all know you aren't able to do so.

Appeals court clears the way for DOGE to access Social Security data despite new red flags The Friday decision follows a January court filing in which the government conceded that DOGE associates may have improperly accessed sensitive data at the agency.

How many times do we have to say it? DOGE has NO reason to have their hands on our sensitive Social Security data.

This is one of the clearest descriptions of this process I've seen. The regressives are all either stupid, crazy or some form of both. They use simple tricks to manipulate the simple- minded just like every little turd in history.

“Point to Iran on a map” is a test he’d probably have failed for most of his life, along with “What are the three branches of government,” and “Describe the significance of the Bill of Rights.” And yet everyone thought we could ignore this and it wouldn’t matter.

Turns out it matters!

Trump's DOJ wants to scrap the Watergate-era law making presidential records public — effectively claiming the presidency owns the American story.

We cannot let that happen.

You give $3.9T every year to top 1%. We spend $5.3T every year on healthcare or >$15k per person. Universal Healthcare would cost $3T per year. You don’t get healthcare, because wealthy pay 3-5% tax rate.

Tax the rich.

So much unnecessary suffering was caused by attributing capacities to the confederates they could never possess. This time we will demonstrate that we have learned our lesson. (Possibly)

The world's largest economy is also the one with the highest national participation rate. Since consumerism fuels 70% of our GDP, one needs to consider the drag that the looming AI jobpocolypse will have on the overall economy without a serious national UBI or ULI (Universal Living Income) debate.

Take a moment to reflect on the anniversary of when traitors to the Union surrendered yet faced minimal accountability for their treachery.

Let it be a reminder that this corrupt, anti-American administration must not escape accountability. I am committed to ensuring justice is pursued.

Denmark didn’t “transition” its grid—it replaced it.

~15% → 92% renewable electricity in 25 years.

Wind did the heavy lifting. Solar is scaling. Interconnection balanced. Flexibility solved variability.

Wind built it. Solar is scaling. Fossil lost it.

This IS system replacement. ⚡#Bettrification

1: Hello Congress?

Article 2 Section 4 of the Constitution

“The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” 👇

It’s incredibly disturbing that the president would threaten death to an “entire civilization” and Congress would do nothing.

I’ve involuntarily committed people for less direct threats… but the president gets to murder whoever he wants in the name of “liberation” I suppose…
