Exciting new addition to the skyline here @harperadamsuni.bsky.social with the installation of a @rothamsted.bsky.social Insect Survey suction tower. Part of BBSRC-supported National Capability, this 12.2m high tower joins 15 other towers recording the migration patterns of aphids.

And to the most massive of all (in terms of size and species), the Coleoptera. Lots of Darwin and Wallace chat of course, and the joys of dung-baited pitfall trapping!

I had a blast yesterday attending the Staffordshire Invertebrate Fair with most of my colleagues from @hau-entomology.bsky.social. Interesting discussions with adults and out of this world questions from inquisitive kids! Don't mind aphids, Petunia the snail was definitely the star of the show! ๐Ÿ˜

That's great, many thanks for this. It's great to hear your positive experiences with a similar lens. I'll check out the review as well. Thanks!

A question for entomologists who take macro photos, what has been your experience of using the Laowa ultra-macro: www.venuslens.net/product/laow...? Interested in getting this lens for some of our smaller species. #entomology #macro #photography
