SCOOP: Two weeks ago, the head of the CDC delayed publication of a report showing covid vaccine cut likelihood of ER visits and hospitalizations by half. Now that report is no longer allowed to be published in CDC’s flagship scientific journal. My latest. 1/2

Oh minced beef pie like granny used to make! That would be lovely. But not the parsley…
I think my only dealbreaker is the sheer volume of parsley involved as I was blessed with the genes that make it taste awful.

A spring posy in a cobalt blue Victorian ink bottle
Tiny dried flower posies I make for my Victorian ink bottle kits
The front cover of the booklet about how making tiny flower arrangements in a beautiful antique ink bottle will improve your mental health
Tomorrow at 8.30pm UK time I'll be listing a small no of my Victorian ink bottle tiny posy kits in my Etsy that I've designed using recent research to improve mental health. They include a 100-150 yr old bottle, dried flower posy & booklet abt how this kind of small project alters the 🧠 for the better
Two amoebas one is sitting on a chair watching tv the other looks very annoyed and is saying “stimulus response! Stimulus response! Don’t you ever think?”
This has potentially ruined this cartoon which was glued to my school biology folder many decades ago.
I wonder if it’s the same sort of habituation that our senses do to tune out ongoing irrelevant things like smells you get used to?
Close second, putting cabbage in stuff.
Controversial and purely based on personal taste (or more to the point, food intolerance) Tea. I’m from Northern Ireland, Irish food is all lovely, I can’t think of anything (happy to be corrected) but tea, it’s like a national religion and if you put it in cake I’ll still taste it and get nauseous.
Oh look up British pie & mash with jellied eel… that looks wretched.
Not that I wouldn’t seek it out to try if ever in London.
See this is why I say “what are your pronouns” as I’ve quite enough of my own already.
Autistic & Irish and thus, a changeling so you know, can’t be too careful.
One of the best things at the Renaissance Festival were the two people dressed in goth fae outfits who were collecting dead-names and/or pronouns in a book for the fae to take away.
Okay. Let's take a moment to talk about How To Be A Hugo Nominee And Come Out Of It Happy About the Honor. I realize this is relevant to like, twelve people. I don't care, those twelve people deserve my time. (You may have seen a version of this thread before. I do it every year.)
Two salps, which are transparent except for an organ at the bottom and their translucent spine and outer surface. One has a small octopus in side it at the base; its mantle is a mottled orange and its curled tentacles are almost white.
Dude, there's no point hiding in that salp. It's transparent. We can still see you.

Not dure of the big arc is even there anymore. They have a fairy tale trail and a dinosaur section, this could go either way really…

Exactly! Like a school that ignores failed police checks.
Ok that’s making me want to go to the Arc farm near Bangor Northern Ireland. Just used to be a family farm day out place, then they built a huge arc, but they was after my kids were too old for visiting anymore. And this is Northern Ireland, it could be wild…
We had one a few years back that built one of those untidy grass pile nests in the fork of our cherry tree. It used to land in the foliage very stealthily and climb through to the nest, which was in full view of the rest of the garden from that side…
I suspect it was after working out the puzzle JRRT set for us all in The Hobbit and having done a lot of rune writing. So that might be a factor.
This book cover is giving definite rhizocephalan vibes. The larva of a parasitic barnacle invades a crab, takes over its digestive (to steal nourishment) & nervous (to control movement & behavior) systems, & ultimately uses the host to feed, protect, & disperse its babies - a perfect horror tale. 🦀
a brightly-coloured tarot card spread - French Cross
little reminder that I have made a (very well reviewed) tarot deck using linoprinting and ✨absolutely zero A/I✨, & I'm moving house soon, so if you could buy some decks I'll have fewer boxes to move! #tarot

If you'd prefer to avoid Audible, here's another option (which also allows you to donate to indie bookshops): libro.fm/audiobooks/9...
UK, definitely drew it, completely randomly, so it may be a hardwired into our DNA like nest building for birds kind of thing.
The study certainly appears to add to evidence that ‘COVID vaccination can play a role in reducing disease burden and associated costs, and it highlights the value of increasing vaccination.’

✍️ Writers of Bsky: Instead of “what IP do you want to write for” I have a better question — What NICHE IP do you want to write for? The IP that you’re sure no one cares about but you.
I have a list:
- Scarecrow and Mrs King
- The Scarecrow of Romney Marsh
- Doyle’s The Lost World
- JAG (not NCIS)
You all already know about my love of the Wonder Twins, but also I would absolutely write a Thundarr the Barbarian reboot.
Offer ends on the 30th!
Come on publishers!
Oh…
Signal boost!
Ok, I see a ruined building, I think it’s definitely based on the sequel book.
