The BC Forest Practices Code 1994 - 2004 has a direct line to the Northwest Forest Plan through the work of many researchers in the US PNW and in #BritishColumbia.
The NWFP has a direct line to the Great Bear Rainforest Agreement 2016 & the Clayoquot Sound Scientific Panel Reports 1995.
In #BritishColumbia, we had a bit of a shot at protecting Old Growth under the BC Forest Practices Code 1994 - 2004 that required the representative Old Growth be retained in every cutblock in Wildlife Tree Patches and Riparian Reserves!!
Here is #BritishColumbia & #BCForests, we can only dream of the widespread protections that the 30 Years of NWFP have provided to the Spotted Owl in Washington, Oregon, and Northern California.
The Northwest Forest Plan (NWFP) (for the Spotted Owl & included Riparian Buffers for Salmon) has done incredible work looking after super important Old Growth Forests.
This is an excellent story with awesome pictures that shows again, once again, still some more, the awesomeness incredible sizes of trees and plants and complexity of Coastal US Pacific Northwest and British Columbia Old Growth Forests!!
