The two styles are definitely distinct. The way they design characters and such. Fumi Games does things that MDHR wouldn't do, and MDHR does things that Fumi Games wouldn't do in their style. That doesn't make one better than the other. They just have different ways of utilizing the medium.

The Mouse and Cuphead comparisons have got me thinking. Obviously two games paying homage to same era of animation are gonna look similar and take inspiration. But I think we need to start seeing traditional rubberhouse animation as a medium as opposed to a gimmick or claiming it's derivative.
