I dunno if tagging this will actually improve its reach much, but worth a shot. #CDNPoli #Canada #Election2025 #leftpol #NDP #GreenParty #Bullyliberals
Wasting time on that when there is a government in power with a bare minority who might be open to switching to a ranked choice ballot (or actually doing a proportional system) is maybe not the best use of your time. Pick your battles, and learn enough to know which are actually worth fighting.
While the idea of somehow pushing three ideologically incompatible but nominally similar parties together might seem like a good idea, it's worth remembering that two-party democracies (what FPTP tends toward) are some of the least competitive in the world.
Class politics has always been central to the NDP and its members. This (excerpted) post from 2019 lays out the fundamental divide between Greens and the NDP ideologically, in no uncertain terms. Some might say "class relations are not useful" but to those people I'd say, try living in reality.
A post from Occupy Canada which calls for strategic campaigns by the NDP and Liberal parties to essentially force a strategic vote campaign. The commenter beneath wants for a merger between the parties to keep conservatives out of power.
Calls for party unity or even mergers are frequent after these sorts of "close-call" elections, but the most incoherent of these are the mergers. After (and even during) the 2015 Federal election there were calls for an NDP-Green merger even from former MPs (who really ought to have known better.
"Smart Voting" was predicting a Green swing in my riding, with a slight Liberal surge to upset the NDP incumbent (NB: Greens are recommended as a strategic vote, against an incumbent)
The actual results of the polls, where the conservative won, out-performing the projection only slightly, but Liberals took second-place (projected third), and Greens narrowly took the last spot for real parties despite this site recommending them as "strategic."
In case anybody wants to know why I never trust "strategic voting," and always get my information from campaigns that actually do massive riding-level polling. Each of these campaigns were running a normal campaign (non-cooperative), the Liberals gaining from national sentiment more than anything.

i do think it's kind of interesting that blue wave democrats who want to blame our current nightmare on people who couldn't vote for genocide can't really do anything besides call us stupid over and over again it's really all you people know is 'idiot' and 'moron' and 'stupid'
Instagram removing a comment I made about reading bullshit company training content slowly has been the highlight of my night... took them about 7 seconds. Apparently this is "spam."
Tamer is a good one, 10/10 for cute slimes.
I would recommend pacing yourself when watching it, rather than trying to speed through it. It's a show that benefits greatly from having time to sit between episodes.
There’s only two more Frieren Fridays 😔
Seems like they're really leaning into mobile viewers, none of that works on either my or my brother's TV hardware, and is actually less functional on both. Runs slightly better tho.
