Soooo worth it thouhg ... WOW that is such a delightfully soft creature <3
Always loving your art, Max. It's comfy and sweet and all soft~<3
Whew, we have not been around here for a while ... We should change that :O
Have a comfy video of us at the #BFD17 last Saturday, showing off the new #fursuit test piece for our DIY project - this time with dance beat detection and sync lighting~

We... Had a pretty gnarly experience the last few days, running into a ... Problem, in a social group, that made us think and reflect on how we want to moderate and maintain our communities. Maybe this is relevant to others.
CV for politics in Germany ahead:

Gentle shoutout to @sailorrooscout.bsky.social and other furry educators for keeping up some good news, and for just... Being out there.
When the dust settles, it'll be you and people motivated and encouraged by your actions that will pick things back up.
Thank you so much for that :)
A screenshot of NIH ORWH website. Notable it includes more than just a calendar of events and about. Namely various links to various research programs, career info, notable research. The navbar is much more populated, with categories like "Resources & Training", "Sex & Gender", "Womens Health Equity & Inclusion", "Career Support"
For reference, NOH ORWH (Office of Research on Women's Health) site at the start of january from web archive
Open it now and... orwh.od.nih.gov
Right now the only thing is seems to have is uh, menopause stuff plus a few blurbs here and there
We know how the history goes. What we don't know is how much time we have. The sooner we can make the EU a safer place for people that need and deserve safe shelter, the more lives can be saved.
@volteuropa.org in light of the growing extremism present in the US, do you know of any EU initiatives to push for easier immigration for those directly affected by this, such as the LGBTQ community?
Could you start such an initiative? Or perhaps give pointers where to voice concerns?
when you feel even the smallest spark of "i want to make something" or "i want to do something", do whatever it takes to hold onto that feeling, because it's so easy for your dreams to get swallowed up in the everyday struggle to survive
Flesh (2020), made for thetawavez
Soft and pattable, would absolutely offer a few gentle ruffles for <3
Especially after all your great work in the field and public communication, ruffles are deserved :>
A die photo of the Pentium processor with the main functional blocks labeled including the caches, instruction fetch and decode, integer execution, and floating point. The image consists of complex patterns of rectangular regions in reddish and brownish colors. The image zooms in on a small part of the floating point unit giving a detail of an adder and PLA circuit.
Intel launched the Pentium processor in 1993. Unfortunately, dividing sometimes gave a slightly wrong answer, the famous FDIV bug. Replacing the faulty chips cost Intel $475 million. I reverse-engineered the circuitry and can explain the bug. 1/9
A screenshot of a website, showing a search input that is both stylish, functional, and a slight parody on Google. Visible is a header saying "Dergle" instead of "Google", a "Search!" button next to a "I'm feeling cuddly" button (instead of "I'm feeling lucky") There is a nice, elegant listing of various search results below the search input, too.
One comfortable evening spent messing around with CSS and some spit and polish, and here we are...
A pretty good search form for our own #website, complete with a little satirical parody on the Big-G
And yes, the "I'm feeling cuddly" button has a function
:>
There is a price to perfection
And sometimes, our desires take us to ... Dark places.
*Looking at a chip-scale package*
Screenshot of a PCB, featuring various SMD components, and prominently showing off a golden copper trace. This trace is a 50R matched RF line, onto which extra care has been placed to make it look extra good ((because it's fancier that way :>))
It begins - the work project is ripe enough that we can start thinking about the PCB design phase >:3
And, uh, designing PCBs is just more fun.
Especiallllyyy with those fancy, via-guarded rounded soldermask-less RF traces... Oh boy~<3
A screenshot of the game Factorio, showing a complex series of Decider Combinators. These in-game items allow a player to construct logic gates to automate certain tasks. In this case, the length of the signal chain requires multiple in-game ticks to fully change, which means that consideration must be taken when synchronizing data, to avoid glitches and errors.
Sssoooo
#factorio, uh...
Has decided to make us learn hardware-level design. This circuit is using global clock lines to synchronize data across complex blocks because otherwise, you guessed it, you get instability errors.
Just like #fpga!!
Aahhh noooo
What - how did that happen, who decided to do that D:
Chise you're lovely and have given the world so much. If social media isn't good for your health, we understand stepping away from it :c
Get a nice hot chocci
Reject Async, return to IRQ-driven state machine
No, really - it does sometimes feel like, although a little harder to initially set up, timing or event/irq driven machinery is just... A bit nicer?
Or having lightweight threads ;-;
Still need to try Ruby's version of Async, tho. It looks nice :>
No amount of LLMs can ever replace the one furry nerd chat when it comes to niche questions.
There's one guy who built FPGA code for Satellites, a few hobby RF engineers, we know six people who worked/work at CERN...
It took them half a minute to reply to a very niche RF question 'bout couplers <3
The "Pink Colada" they served at the HCC from the Eurofurence - think "Piña colada" but with Strawberry taste, whipped cream and, if you're lucky, some Haribo or similar candy on top... Maybe mini marshmallows...
It's scary, seeing what is happening in America. That's what this thread is about.
Because the memory of similar times in Germany are still being kept alive.
And I can feel the parallels of history, slowly and painfully drawn.
But we can learn from the past, too. How to rebel, support, fight, live
It's so easy to forget what happened. I wasn't there, I was born so, so far after it that you'd hope I wouldn't have to know.
But things like this make you remember. If you look for them it's scary how often you can find them in cities, on streets.
And remembering is incredibly important right now
These plaques were so-called "Stolpersteine", memorials for people taken under Hitler's regime.
They list the name, occupation, birth and ... death, or rather date of murder.
There's 100.000 of them all across Germany right now. Each one for a person.
Some of them still being remembered today.
A picture of the sidewalk. On it are three lit candles, placed next to three metal plaques that have inscriptions of them. Names of people, date of birth, death, and where they were taken.
Today, we came across something curious, solemn, and ... Important.
Candles, on the sidewalk, next to three metal plaques next to a house.
You can actually find these plaques everywhere in Germany, and I feel they are becoming all the more important again.
4 panel comic P1: a right hand draws a wavy stroke on a sketchbook page. A caption box up top reads "draw" P2: the word "CREATE" dominates a panel with a black background, forming in the negative space. Various small shapes surround it. P3: a lone simplified humanoid figure is on the bottom right of a another panel with a black background. A thought bubble forms above their head, the words "if not for others, then at least for yourself" within. P4: The Earth dominates the bottom of the panel, with a sliver of space above it. Clouds swirl and boil across the Earth, which is the only element on the entire page coloured a pink-red. A caption box above reads "now, more than ever"

Halloween collab entry for a little collaboration between friends <3
I think this turned out way cooler than I had first thought, and I'm really happy with the effects~
And also, "Candy-Gore style synth dragon with holo hydra heads" is a nice mouthful
Mrmrrrrmrmmrm
