These plaques were so-called "Stolpersteine", memorials for people taken under Hitler's regime.
They list the name, occupation, birth and ... death, or rather date of murder.

There's 100.000 of them all across Germany right now. Each one for a person.
Some of them still being remembered today.

You can actually find these plaques everywhere in Germany, and I feel they are becoming all the more important again.
