The evolution of a mask.

Puppets hold a special place in my heart, and be they monster or man, I want to show that even through darkness and disarray, small bits of light and hope and love can be found.

With that being said, Happy World Puppetry Day!

My studio space is in a state of macabre disarray with half formed creatures, phantom limbs strewn about, and tiny, handmade stones for future stone walls. I'm currently working on a top secret project, but I wanted to share an old form that is helping to shape a new form.
It's gonna be WILD. 🕷️

Bird boys gathering. This can’t be good.

Blood tainted in curse, imprisoned the innocent, and tethered them to wander beneath shadow and crown. Such a lonely life to behold, such a heavy burden to carry. A friend, a foe, a curious eye, a kind hand, a kind word. All welcome, but none brave enough to go near web and fangs.

Their little legs move about. And the fact that they feel as though they’re hugging your hand when you hold them was just a fantastic bit I did not plan. 🥺

Sharing a bit of progress while I stitch and fold and cut and sculpt tiny mushroom folk for my upcoming vending events. Meet one of the Ascaria, a rambunctious creature filled with as much charming disposition as it is curious.
