And it's unfortunately EXTREMELY good at this.

Saying this as someone who's seen a LOT of the back end from previously working in AI training. It's not designed to be your voice. It's designed to be marketable and clean and to flatter you into believing that's your voice now.

It's insidious propaganda to pretend AI is assistive. It's trained on stolen work, and trained to fit its output to specific parameters set by these companies. Then they say it will write for you. No it won't. It will write for tech fuedalism with your idea as fuel.

On the disability front, I find it insulting when people make exceptions for this tbh. There are amazing things actually written by disabled people. We have unique voices that need to be heard MORE. Not have our ideas transformed into whatever a bunch of tech bros deem is palatable and marketable.

If I found out a work I liked was AI, I'd be really upset. The beauty of stories for me is that another human has created a world inside my head by putting words together in a way only they could. Every choice counts and affects the experience. If you cut out most of these choices, what's left?

Hot take but if the idea of UBI makes you angry and your first thought is "why would anyone bother going to work?", you're already halfway to understanding why UBI would be an amazing step in the right direction. Keep thinking.

Being told by 111 guy that my emergency dental appointment will be free only to arrive and be told that because my partner earns just over an arbitrary minimum limit it won't actually and they can't even give me a ballpark for treatment costs without paying for consultation first. NHS totally works.

I find the seperation of dental issues from regular health issues so fucking weird
