Game devs, plz tell me how "pausing the game" works in your game? Is it weird? Is it simple? Is it janky?
I'm curious how such a common feature--the ability to pause and check your settings, etc--actually works & what happens when players hit pause!

In VR, everything is more complex: we have to render two images (one per eye) at a higher frame rate (typically 90 to 120 FPS). We also can’t prevent the player from turning their head—so we can’t lock the camera—or from moving physically, which makes pausing even more complex. But I love VR ^^
In VR, I’ve also found that resuming is just as critical—for example, if the player was climbing before pausing, they might fall by default when the game resumes… 😭
Pausing the game is a big challenge when it isn’t considered from the start and when the different game states (gameplay, menu, cinematic, loading, etc.) aren’t clearly defined or when they change during the production, and what about pausing the audio ? Should I only apply a low pass filter ?

So, think about the problem based on the needs of your scenes and your hardware.
Both have pros and cons, and by analyzing your scenes needs you pick the right methods.
Or make a VR game that should run on meta quest 2 ^^
Techniques are only outdated by scale at the moment. Enough hardware and you can make things passable without knowing the core basics of how triangles light or deform.
However... take away that hardware and what have you got?
So yeah, learn the core skills first so you can troubleshoot down.

It exports selected layers/groups as separate images, cropping the empty space around each!!
You don't have to download anything, it comes with Krita, but its disabled by default!!
