Does it annoy you that the very last stitch looks loose and pulled?
Here’s a remedy for that: Before #knitting the last stitch, lift the stitch below it onto your left-hand needle and knit the 2 stitches together 🧶

How to weave in ends into a single garter ridge? #knitting
I used to feel terribly frustrated when I only had a single garter ridge to weave in the end.
This is how I do it now 🧶😉🙌

Have you ever had to make purl increases?
The make one increases are easy to make on the purl side. The principle remains the same, the only difference being that you purl the stitch instead of #knitting it 🧶

Jeny’s surprisingly stretchy cast off
Make a reverse yarn over, knit a stitch and pull the yarn over together with the previous stitch over the last stitch you knitted 🧶

What is the best cast off for toe-up socks? 🧦 🧦 🧦
The best - but not the easiest - is, in my opinion, the Italian cast off: Really neat and very stretchy ✨ ✨ ✨
Works well on 1/1 ribbing.
Also suitable for brioche and double #knitting 🧶 🧶

Kind of… The Russian join is used to join 2 yarn ends together. This is like half a Russian join.
Icelandic cast off
Have you ever finished a #knitting project, only to find that your cast off was too tight?
Here's a neat cast off that matches garter stitch tension really well and looks neater than simply using larger needles…

Pinhole cast on
This cast on allows you to knit in the round starting from the centre without leaving a hole!

Single pass brioche
Working two rows of brioche at the same time was a game changer for me! It’s a bit like double #knitting. I hold the knit stitch colour to the right 🧶

No curl cast off
I love the clean, minimalistic look of this cast off 🤩 I have used it on cotton cardigan sleeves and love that really neat finish🧶

Every now and then, you might need to cast off purlwise 🧶
It’s quite simple: just like a regular cast-off, but instead of #knitting the stitches, you purl them. This way you get a purl ridge at the edge of your work.

How to weave in (some of) your ends as you go 🧶
I like to get at least some of my ends out of the way while I’m still #knitting, so this is how I join a new colour.
☝️ Start by fraying the yarn end to taper it.
Remember to stretch 🙆🏻♀️
We all know #knitting is an amazingly exciting hobby, but there’s one downside: it’s quite sedentary.
‼️ Remember: if you experience any discomfort or pain while doing the exercises, stop immediately and consult a healthcare provider.
🧶 🧶 🧶
Yes, I think it would require a lot more yarn! It’s very dense and not stretchy.
Purled cast on
With the knitted cast on, you can cast on from anywhere in your project with just one working yarn 🧶
You can use the purled cast on, if you are on a wrong side row and want to avoid getting a purl ridge on the right side 🙌🧶🌷

In linen stitch, I like to cast off in pattern. It creates an edge with delicate little scallops ✨
This is how to cast off in linen stitch: [k1, pass previous stitch over, sl1p wyif, pass previous stitch over] 🧶

How do I make a buttonhole in linen stitch?
👉 cast off 2 sts as follows: sl1p wyif, k1, pass previous stitch over, sl1p wyif, pass previous stitch over, continue in pattern ✨
👉 on the next row make 2 backward loops over the gap ✨
👉 on the following row knit the backward loops in pattern ✨

Here’s a simple bobble:
👉 kyok, turn, p3, turn, CDD.
But… I prefer to knit backwards instead of turning and purling. So this is how I do it 😉🙌🧶
Have you ever tried #knitting backwards?

Do you hate gaping button bands as much as I do?
🥁👉 Make the button bands in Linen Stitch
For me, using this stitch was a real lightbulb 💡 moment. It creates a sturdy, non-stretchy fabric that doesn’t curl, so it’s ideal for this use 👌✨
Yesterday I posted an sk2po and was asked (twice!) whether it could be considered a left-leaning double decrease.
