"100% degradable, 100% friendly"
I'm not entirely convinced by these slogans on my plastic bag but they can't be faulted for honesty.

A box of doughnuts
We got this splendid box of doughnuts from Honeys Donuts 🍩🍩. A visual treat, and also one that was definitely as good as it looked.
This development was, indeed, unexpected and puzzling. Maybe just part of the distracting chaff? Or a cunning play? It's very easy to assume there's a plan that we can't determine. That's the safest assumption to make. But actually, if we're honest, there probably isn't any plan at all.
Full of beans sir, and I hope you can say the same. ❤️
We absolutely do post food photos. Well I do. And spiders.

She is Bettina of the Medina, put there as part of a set of sculptures exploring the idea of sea level rise. That's why her feet are in the water when the tide is in.
A plate of avocado on toast
For my birthday it was brunch at the venue I knew would do us proud - Artisan Cafe East Cowes. Look at their exquisite presentation of a very simple avo on toast. Fantastic food in such an enjoyable location.

Thanks Rowan! Peace to you my dear x

A new bizarre harvestman from Eocene Baltic amber, named Balticolasma wunderlichi!
This wonderful little guy was quite the challenge to work on as I don't do inverts that often...
As its not on today's theme, I'm going early with #bsbi #wildflowerhour. These are completely native daffs in a small reserve in Gloucestershire in the golden triangle, which was stunning yesterday. One person seeing this was nearly in tears...

VICTORY! Government to open up the Land Registry - bringing to an end a thousand years of secrecy shrouding who owns England.
I’ve been campaigning for this for ten years: the new Land Use Framework, published later today, makes it government policy. 1/

If you visit the English countryside it is affected by a plague of anti-social behaviour, but R2R advocates will claim habits will change when they ‘own’ it
There is a plague of littering where people actually do live, so why would allowing access to areas they don’t change that

Just a shout out to magnolias. Aren't they the most magnificent blooms?
I occasionally end up designing websites, and when I do, accessibility requirements permitting, I largely choose the colours based on how amusing their hex value is. Just picked #DADADA as a dark mode text colour because saying it out loud made me chuckle.
Your regular reminder that the UK is in fact a high trust society and anyone who implies it isn’t is either selling you a pup or has bought one.
Few tasks more cursed than making a cup of tea in your hotel room. A graceless act. Like artificially inseminating a pig. Sure you might end up getting what you want, but the process only shames all involved.
When someone says „Scientists do not want you to know“ you can dismiss everything from there on. Scientists want you to know. They are desperate that you know. They can’t shut up about what they found out and want you to know.
