I wouldn’t personally use AI, but with the current difficulties of getting your game noticed and devs having to spend more and more time marketing rather than working on the game, i cannot afford more certainty see why people would.
Reddit has always been the best for me but it takes a lot of time and has been much worse the past couple of years.
Unfortunately all the sites to give keys to creators cost quite a bit to use. So i cant see many indie devs using them.
I think it’s just difficult for all indies atm.
I did start marketing a couple of weeks prior and paid for one sponsored stream, but as a single dev who has to work a second job to enable me to work on the game, i cannot afford more than that.
I guess its just got even harder for people like me and will probably push devs towards AI slop more.
I’ve been developing my game for 6 years, I wouldn’t call it low quality and I’ve never used AI, yet no one’s covered it for Steam Next Fest. Even after sending out 100’s of emails. How do people like me get noticed?

A 3 by 3 grid of planets, the rows being different types and the colums showing different sun positions and planet varyations. The first row shows oceanic planets with deep water and brighter colors at the edges and where riffs lie. Clouds of different sizes cover the ocean surface that varies slightly in hue between the planets. Where the planet transitions from day to night, the clouds show a gradient from white to light orange to dark purple to deep dark blue. Blue atmosphere gives each planet a small halo. The second row is made of jungle planets with vast green continents , river valleys and mountain ranges. You can see some deserts too. Last but not least a bunch of magma planets with dark grey clouds ret hot glowing craveses going across their whole surface. On the night side, you can see the clouds being illuminated from pools of lava at their edges. The magma planets all have a faint red atmosphere.
💫 2D Planet generator I am making for @produno.bsky.social's game SpaceSlog in #Godot!
These #shaders use a lot of hacky math and a lot of color gradients to render authentic and art-directable ocean, jungle and magma planets.

Yep, definitely the best Star Wars to come from Disney!
I too am 38 and wish we could all go back to individual run forums!
I have seen drunken master, never realised there was a second though. Will have to go find it!
Anyone like pictures of cats? 😺
Well, don’t leave us hanging. Tell us some good ones to watch!
Looks like we should be using #indiegamedev
Do hashtags work here and should we be including them in our posts?
