Huzzah!
The Grocery Essentials Benefit top up is coming June 5th!
I was hoping for earlier, obviously, but at least we have a date set now, and I can budget it in.
I'm allowing myself to splurge on one game, and then I fill my freezer with the remainder.
Woohoo!

I'm so curious now but I don't want to totally mar my memories. π€£
Though, even as kids, we were, like, "This is just "The Smurfs", but underwater!" π
Will I still owe "John" a favour?
That could bite me in the ass.
I was just reminded that, when I bought "Batman: The Telltale Series", I got the sequel - what they're now calling Season 2 - "The Enemy Within".
I had completely forgotten about it & was bummed about the cliffhanger.
So, I'm going to restart & see how many of my decisions from S1 will affect S2.
So, the new "Clayface" DCU movie looks to be a straight-up horror.
I appreciate that Gunn is trying new things, as the MCU can be a little homogenized, but maybe a little more consistency?
They actually had me interested in this one as Clayface's story is tragic.
Horror's just not my bag at all.

Avery Books as "Hawk"; he is standing in a tree-lined street, with cars parked on either side. He is stylin', as per usual, wearing a white suit with a checkered tie, and a black, fur-trimmed, leather trenchcoat. It looks as though his shoes are brown, though... and I feel like that clashes with the outfit, personally.
I don't know why I thought of this really, other than watching #DS9, but my new head canon is that this is Sisko's great-great-great-grandfather.
Heck, we don't know his last name... it could be Sisko for all we know! π

They *were* everywhere, and it was awesome!
Little Me just loved them.
It might be cool for an author to try one for a more adult demo. π€
I've never heard of the 'Which Way' ones, and I wouldn't've been allowed the 'W, W & Y' ones -> "D&D IS SATANIC AND LEADS TO EVIL!"-type parents. π€£
@drteethphd.bsky.social: Maybe B. or E. would like these?
This is so awesome!
They still writing new books (some are actually serials now), and they're re-releasing the "Retro" books with all of the original artwork.
I loved these books.
To do A: Page 56
To do B: Page 103
*Quickly Check Page 56: "You died!"* (AGAINβ½ π€£)
*Turns to Page 103: "You win $1M!*"
As an aside...
I would love for these games to evolve to "Choose Your Own Adventure" levels, with (just what wrestling fans have been screaming for in Career mode) Branching Storylines.
It'd be tough, but it could also be amazing.
I used to love the CYOA books; I'd love a film version.
If you ever make a TellTale-esque game, I beg of you:
Don't put in any inconsequential choices.
There's one in the Batman game that is so UGH, it might as well not even be a choice.
With additions like that, it makes me wonder what other choices don't really matter.
Are we watching the collapse of society on our phones or are our phones watching us, the collapse of society.
* Darby's WIN felt forced
I find some of TK's booking decisions re: titles to be a little odd sometimes.
You're right in that he seems to change the story seemingly midway-through quite often.
Toni losing the title, too.
It was absolutely time, but it still felt anticlimactic, and - to me, anyway - Darby's felt forced. π€·
" #Batman: The Telltale Series" is fantastic.
The only downfall: my reflexes ain't what they used to be.
I "died" thrice - and it stressed me out a little.
The Telltale / AdHoc system is a great medium.
If they can ever make it work properly with film (unlike that WWE mess), it could be huge.
This should be @bodegacats.bsky.social pinned post! πΉ
Like, all of those cats own their respective bodegas... but this one dreamt big and is running a Supermarket!

Every time this tailor posts a photo of their workspace, it looks like their dog is a tailor and he's showing off the garments he made.

Did you know that basically every animal gets the zoomies?
it's beautiful that there exists a universal behavior, where the only way they can express the sheer happiness that comes from being gifted with 4 strong legs and allowed to walk God's green earth, is to absolutely haul ass like a maniac.

I started playing "Batman: The Telltale Series".
It's very, very good.
It's definitely scratching the story itch, but part of the reason I love #Dispatch so much is... well, the dispatching missions.
They really need to make a game of just that. I'd absolutely buy that.
Dear Companies/Corporate Middle Managers.
Every single one of your AI helpdesk bots is FUCKING USELESS and not remotely fit for purpose.
But hey, Government and Corporates, by all means buy in to this technology and make everyoneβs life a lot worse in ever single regard.

I've played & finished "Dispatch" 5 times this week; will probably play again.
I get "comfort watching" but this feels like hyperfixation: I do something until I get sick of it, and move on to the next thing.
Am I just so desperate for comfort, or is it something more?
It's kind of unsettling...

A photorealistic mask of Clara Peller, the woman who shouted "Where's the Beef?" in old Wendy's commercials. The mask features her wavy grey hair and a string of pearls. The eyes are cut out, giving an incredibly unsettling appearance
Just so everyone is aware, as a promotion in 1984, Wendy's produced terrifying, photorealistic carboard masks of Clara Peller, aka the "Where's the Beef?" lady
KERMIT: Yeah, when the guys find out the that the show isn't going forward, they're gonna be upset... except the band. They're always happy. Legally now.

How funny would it be for both HHH & Steph to have received their HoF rings, and then fairly quickly shown the door?
