In closing, #SantaSangre is the most tragic movie I’ve seen in a long time. And I was basically begging and pleading with the film to have a happy ending, when a certain love interest reunites with the protagonist. The way she tries to silently “reach” him (as he’s going crazy) - moved me deeply. Ⓐ
#SantaSangre also has a scene of great (intentional) hilarity - a clueless doctor drops off some patients with #DownSyndrome at a theatre, to watch a movie. But instead, the patients do some cocaine, skip the movie, and hire an obese (female) prostitute. It’s implied they had a great time. Ⓐ
But before the dude (whose genitals become mutilated) killed himself - he cut off BOTH of his wife’s(?) arms. THAT I cannot sympathize with, to be clear. The armless wife(?) now resembles the armless saint in the weird cult the wife(?) was leading. This also marks the end of her trapeze career. Ⓐ
Saw #SantaSangre - oddly enough, this is the first time I’ve ever seen an #AlejandroJodorowsky movie (and I’m supposed to be a film buff)! The film is bizarre, yet AWESOME, and has impressive gore. Unsurprisingly, a dude commits suicide after having acid poured on his junk. I sympathize, bro. Ⓐ

A strange sight in the movie #Highway61 - is #JelloBiafra portraying a dorky customs agent. So that’s one of those things you’ll only ever see “in the movies” - since in real-life, he’s an anarchist. Well, there’s actually some debate about that, but… Ⓐ
Re-watched #Highway61 - a really good film, which is yet ANOTHER of director #BruceMcDonald’s road trip movies. Like #Roadkill, this film ALSO stars the great #ValerieBuhagiar and #DonMcKellar! However, Highway 61 is (overall) WAY more enjoyable than Roadkill. Ⓐ
In closing, #BloodFeast is a boring film - that doesn’t take itself seriously. Though the movie has a sense of humour, and impressive gore, the actual violence is disappointing. Surprisingly, there’s little unintentional hilarity (for a 1963 B-movie where the acting is wooden). Ⓐ
In the aftermath of the garbage truck squishing (in the film #BloodFeast), the main inept cop feels the need to explain STEP BY STEP how he clumsily solved the case - even though we ALREADY saw every one of those steps ONSCREEN. Also, the main inept cop looks like his girlfriend’s grandfather. Ⓐ
As a precursor of 1990’s #TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles film, the villain in #BloodFeast is squished in the back of a garbage truck. So that kills the killer - although I thought the same thing about #Shredder when I saw #TMNT.
To quote an inept cop: “He died a fitting death - for the garbage he was.” Ⓐ

Saw #BloodFeast - oddly enough, this is the first time I’ve ever seen a #HerschellGordonLewis movie (and I’m supposed to be a gorehound)! It’s about a conspicuous serial killer (performing “ancient Egyptian” rituals) with the conspicuous name #FuadRamses. He’s lucky the cops are so inept. Ⓐ

In closing, I’d normally give a film like #BruceMcDonald’s #Roadkill a very low rating - everything leading up to the ending is so… painfully dull. It’s just so unfortunate that everything leading to the amazing ending - was so shitty. So I must punish the film - by saying it’s (overall) mediocre. Ⓐ
So #BruceMcDonald’s film #Roadkill is boring as hell, but isn’t as aimless as it initially seems - there is a method to McDonald’s madness. Saw #Roadkill - a BORING #BruceMcDonald road trip film about a woman randomly encountering/traveling with one oddball after another, as she seeks a missing rock band. In closing, #ExorcistTheBeginning is a way better film than I expected - though it’s mediocre at best. Props for showing a child mauled to death by hyenas ONSCREEN, and children getting their brains blown out by an evil Nazi ONSCREEN. So the level of violence/gore for this movie pleased me. Ⓐ
So #ExorcistTheBeginning proves #FatherMerrin was suitable as a secondary character for ONE movie - and that was #TheExorcist. Actually, there’s only ONE WAY “Merrin” could be an acceptable protagonist - he’d have to be a serial killer AND a sex criminal. Think about it. You know I’m right. Ⓐ
