According to Federal Reserve economists, without Trump's tariffs, inflation would have dropped to pre-pandemic levels last year.

Instead, core goods prices were up 3.1% by February 2026 — and Trump's Iran War will send prices skyrocketing even higher.

Cartoon depicts a half constructed biplane with struts in the form of initials ( NAF ) representing each political party attempting to complete negotiations in order to form a coalition government. National Party leader Christopher Luxon sits at in front of a tiny engine holding the joystick. "I used to run an airline. Vroom! Tally-ho!" One wheel is missing and the biplane sits on a brick. David Seymour ( ACT ) is tangled in wires through the gap in the 'A'. Winston Peters ( NZFIRST ) dressed in a mechanic's overalls leans nonchantly on a wing, with a cigarette near to a red petrol can. Various missing peices lie scattered on the ground as wind blows out the rear of the plane, which as a push type motor. Refers to Luxon's former career as AirNZ CEO.

A classic black-and-white photograph of Geraldyn “Jerrie” Cobb, pioneering American aviator and astronaut candidate, seated in the cockpit of a high-performance jet aircraft during the early 1960s. She wears a flight helmet with visor, oxygen mask connected to a hose, and flight suit with patches. Her expression is calm, focused, and determined as she looks upward slightly toward the sky, evoking her role as the first woman to pass the same astronaut screening tests as NASA's Mercury Seven men and her status as the top contender in the Mercury 13 program. The image captures her courage, skill, and groundbreaking ambition in an era when women were excluded from spaceflight due to gender bias.

Jerrie Cobb should have been the first woman in #space. 🚀

Due to gender bias, she wasn't.

Part of the Mercury 13 (women), she passed the same tests as the Mercury Seven astronauts (men), often ranking in the top 2% (including compared to the men). She was born #OTD in 1931.

Vance is a prick that defies description. My mother said this is the main reason she hopes Trump doesn't die while in office. I still hope he croaks off soon.

Some disabilities are invisible.

You won’t necessarily know a person is disabled unless they tell you.

This woman told agents she was disabled and on her way to a medical appointment … it didn’t even slow them down. They broke her window & dragged her out of the car

Today, we reflect on the words of Mayor David Dinkins: our city’s first Black mayor (and a democratic socialist!).
