Beautiful colours and block design. Your quilting is lovely. This must have taken some time to get it all done.

Absolutely gorgeous!
Lots of the other quilters in my hand sewing group are into EPP hexis. I encourage you to give it a try, but maybe don’t start with a full-size quilt :)
This is my oldest WIP - started around 1990. When I first started quilting, I only did hand piecing and hand quilting. Soon after starting this one, I discovered machine piecing, and so this one sorta took a backseat. I joined a hand sewing group with the express purpose of finishing this one.
Partially pieced hexi quilt top - Grandmother’s Flower Garden pattern.
Close-up of my partially pieced top. Blocks are in blue, pink and green, with traditional yellow centres.
Picture of pattern I am working from, with areas circled in yellow showing remaining sections still-to-be-completed (basically, upper left-hand corner and both lower corners); about 20 blocks (most full; some half blocks) still to sew in.
My WIP Wednesday included hand-sewing in some more blocks to my Grandmother’s Flower Garden top. I’m slowly getting there - photo of pattern shows areas circled in yellow I still have to go.

This is beautiful. What an amazing quilt.
Janet Clare designed the fabric along with the pattern (Spoondrift); she is quite the talent. I am glad that I went with her fabrics (despite the directional nature of some in her ‘To the Sea’ collection).
After more shovelling (winds created new drifts), I completed the 4th of 4 Netting blocks. To be honest, this block was a bit finicky, in no small part because the light fabric was directional. This made having all the ships upright on the half-square triangles challenging.

Partially sewn block piece showing bobbin thread ran out halfway through.
OK, back to my ‘happy place’ and working on the fourth (of 4) Netting block. Played Bobbin Chicken with disappointing results. Oh well, ‘onward we sew’!
Listening to Charlie after digging out from the latest round of snow, and trying to come to terms of yesterday’s White House shameful display by Putin’s assets.

No, the meeting did not go badly for Ukraine. It exposed in the most undeniable, unequivocal way possible the pro-Putin commitments of the president and vice president. That was information Americans and allies needed to have clear before them.
Pieced 12.5 inch by 12.5 inch block called ‘ Netting’ from Janet Clare’s “Spoondrift’ nautical themed pattern. My fabric is from Moda’s ’To the Sea’ collection. Others in the group are using fabrics sympathetic to my fabric, by not necessarily the same.
‘Netting’ block in-progress. Picture shows fabric pieces that include 1.5 inch half square triangles (1 inch finished), 1.5 inch squares (1 inch finished) and various rectangles.
Working on a group project with 3 friends. Pattern is 24-block ‘Spoondrift’ pattern by Janet Clare. We have been assigned 6 blocks each, and will sew 4 of each, and when finished will swap blocks with each other. Pic below is one of my assigned blocks, ‘Netting’.

If your current efforts don’t get the smell out, try soaking it/washing it with baking soda only (the kind of baking soda used for baking - don’t use the washing soda as it is too harsh). Good luck.
Picture showing assembly of Month Two BOM blocks.
Picture showing 4 completed Square-in-a-Square variation blocks. Each block is 6 and 1/2 inches square (ish).
Close-up of completed Square-in-a-Square block. Inner square made up of four rectangles in 4 different fabrics. Outer square made of two fabrics - upper half square triangles in a lighter fabric, and lower half square triangles in a darker fabrics. Six different fabrics in total used to complete the block.
Finished up BOM Month Two. I now have 4 completed 6.5 x 6.5 (ish) square-in-a-square variation blocks. I’m looking forward to seeing what Month 3 brings.

Gulf of Mexico
Hey everybody, just because it’s Wednesday (it IS Wednesday, right? ) let’s all post a picture of the Gulf of Mexico.

You have had a very productive day with your quilting - well done! I have just been working on some hand-sewing (adding more blocks to my Grandmother’s Flower Garden top), and I just finished my third and final round of shovelling. It’s still snowing, but I’m pooped!
Well said, Charlie
On the streets of Brussels I encountered numerous little plaques in front of doorways. They commemorate the Jewish families who were taken from their homes and murdered by Nazis.
Never forget no matter how many lies Elon Musk tells.
Two back-to-back snow storms hitting us this weekend. The first one stopped this morning and I have just finished shovelling. Time for some nice, relaxing quilting. The next storm has just started.
Stunning!
Problem seems to be with my phone - not sure why as I was able to post photos from up until recently. Anyhow, I was successful when I posted pics from my relatively new computer.

Not sure why the photos didn’t load - will try again
Here are a couple of pics of the BOM, ‘Stellar Starburst’ I started today. I doing the ‘small’ version (6” blocks; finished quilt is 53”x53”. Month One involved cutting out the two feature fabrics.
