Dark chocolate easter eggs
Did you know chocolate is a source of polyphenols? 🍫
These naturally occurring, plant-derived bioactive compounds have been linked in epidemiological studies to a lower risk of cardiovascular disease for people who consume polyphenol-rich diets.

🆕 Our scientists and those @johninnescentre.bsky.social are launching one of the first human trials of gene edited food, to understand whether biofortifying tomatoes in this way leads to higher levels of vitamin D in the blood after people have eaten them 🍅
The Best Practice in Microbiome Research presents protocols covering the design of ethical, inclusive studies, sample collection and genomic sequencing, bioinformatics processing of data and statistical analysis.
The END2AMR consortium will focus on chronic and drug-resistant infections caused by Gram-negative bacteria and Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which are responsible for significant global morbidity and mortality.
Supported by £2.7 million of funding from Wellcome’s Biology of Fungal Adaptation programme, a five-year research project leverages a network of leading international experts from the Quadram Institute, @dunnschool.bsky.social and @monashuniversity.bsky.social.
