This app did the thing yet again where it updated itself and turned “Require alt text before posting” off, so if you have that set, go into Settings > Accessibility and turn it back on (and if you don’t have it set, I recommend doing that)

13-year-old step kid just told me their friend wasn’t at school today because he had a really bad reaction from the tear gas.
And he wasn’t even outside.

A snowman in a wizard hat gazes into a crystal ball, which sits on a gnarly upturned root. The sphere displays a vision of a sinister snowflake.

AI has gotten much better at a lot of things, but my mental model that it should only be used for tasks you would give an overeager and overconfident intern remains pretty solid.
I am often impressed by the work it does, but you have to double check everything yourself if it needs to be right.

Common root is Latin, radix, root.
The PIE root—or in this case the root root—is:
—*wrād (“root”)
Other fun words that come from this:
- licorice
- ramada
- rhizoid
- rhizome
- rutabaga
- wort
Knowing that radical means getting to the root of the issue is p great.

Anyone here use the Google Scholar Python interface scholarly?
It's super easy to install and I'm trying to us it but it just…doesn't work. No errors or warnings, the first 3 lines of the example just return an empty iterator.
I have no idea how to troubleshoot. Does anyone have any ideas?
