Yeah ok thatโs neat. If youโre gonna do research, I think climbing trees to find where animals poop is quite a cool way to do it.

๐งต/ The NHS is about to undergo one of the most radical โ and scandalous - changes in its history.
From 1st April (the public are the fools in this), GPs will be contractually obliged to seek remote โadvice & guidanceโ from hospital clinicians, making it even harder to see an NHS specialist.
BMA staff strike 27-28 March & 6-7 April after being offered 2.75%, less than the 3.5% the BMA called a โcrushing blowโ for resident doctors.
2.75%, presumably also a crushing blow, per the BMA.โโโโโโโโโโโโโโโโ
Sadly kept home by a migraine today but sending solidarity to my colleagues on the picket, wish I were there. โ

Today's Covid Inquiry report recounts the devastating impact on doctors, and our patients.

BMA staff have spoken loud and clear: enough is enough.
With a 96% vote for strike action on an 80% turnout, GMB members are standing up for fair pay after years of erosion.
๐ Last week GMB members working at the BMA protested outside BMA House demanding fair pay for staff.
After years of real-terms pay cuts, members are now balloting on strike action.

A little grey cat sits by a window. In front of her is a ballot paper for industrial action with the โYESโ box ticked. Mousse wants her human to be able to afford to keep her and her sisters. Sheโs done a bit of math and thinks itโs rubbish to be offered at best +ยฃ41 in total pay for the year and at worst -ยฃ1, when inflation is around 4%.
Itโs scary to vote for strike action, but after working extra hard for years to support doctorsโ disputes, with staff morale in the dumps, teams shrinking & workloads growing, it feels really cruel to be offered a real terms pay cut. So I guess itโs our turn to vote yes for fair pay.

Ableism in the medical profession is preventing doctors with disabilities and neurodivergence disclosing their conditions.
And even when they feel safe to do so, many doctors find themselves unable to access reasonable adjustments.

Confirmed. Resident Doctorsโ strike in England, 7:00am on 17 December to 06:59am on 22 December.
After the last round of strike action, resident doctors in England gave Wes Streeting a window to deliver sufficient progress towards a viable deal on jobs and pay.
That hasnโt happened.
Residents have been given no choice but to return to the picket lines.

Really dispiriting for union staff to be offered another real terms pay cut... ๐ซค
Hopefully this can be resolved without too much escalation.
