Yeah ok thatโ€™s neat. If youโ€™re gonna do research, I think climbing trees to find where animals poop is quite a cool way to do it.

๐Ÿงต/ The NHS is about to undergo one of the most radical โ€“ and scandalous - changes in its history.

From 1st April (the public are the fools in this), GPs will be contractually obliged to seek remote โ€œadvice & guidanceโ€ from hospital clinicians, making it even harder to see an NHS specialist.

BMA staff strike 27-28 March & 6-7 April after being offered 2.75%, less than the 3.5% the BMA called a โ€œcrushing blowโ€ for resident doctors.

2.75%, presumably also a crushing blow, per the BMA.โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹โ€‹

A little grey cat sits by a window. In front of her is a ballot paper for industrial action with the โ€œYESโ€ box ticked. Mousse wants her human to be able to afford to keep her and her sisters. Sheโ€™s done a bit of math and thinks itโ€™s rubbish to be offered at best +ยฃ41 in total pay for the year and at worst -ยฃ1, when inflation is around 4%.

Itโ€™s scary to vote for strike action, but after working extra hard for years to support doctorsโ€™ disputes, with staff morale in the dumps, teams shrinking & workloads growing, it feels really cruel to be offered a real terms pay cut. So I guess itโ€™s our turn to vote yes for fair pay.

Ableism in the medical profession is preventing doctors with disabilities and neurodivergence disclosing their conditions.

And even when they feel safe to do so, many doctors find themselves unable to access reasonable adjustments.

Confirmed. Resident Doctorsโ€™ strike in England, 7:00am on 17 December to 06:59am on 22 December.

After the last round of strike action, resident doctors in England gave Wes Streeting a window to deliver sufficient progress towards a viable deal on jobs and pay.

That hasnโ€™t happened.

Residents have been given no choice but to return to the picket lines.

BMA branded 'hypocritical' as staff launch formal pay dispute

Really dispiriting for union staff to be offered another real terms pay cut... ๐Ÿซค
Hopefully this can be resolved without too much escalation.

Today marks the start of strike action for resident doctors in England.
These strikes could have been averted, if @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social had a credible offer for us to consider.

On that day, 52 people were killed, with many more injured.
