Easiest and cheapest though, chopping up weeds and leaving them to break down in a closed barrel with rain water! Stinks like the devil's underpants! 🤢 But GREAT cheap fertilizer! 🙂👍🏾

I grow comfrey, for example and it is SUPER easy to propagate so you can end up with a whole row of it. Great high potassium natural fertilizer. I also make lactobacillus culture from rice wash and fermented milk, stabilized with molasses. A little goes a LONG way.

Incoming: fertilizer prices will go up, thanks to the 'peace president' starting yet another unnecessary war. This video is one example but do we want to share self-sufficiency tips? youtu.be/wEdltA9R36w?...

I know if I go on the highway now, it will be BUCKETING down! 🌧️💦 But here in the village?? Just enough to make it miserable outside but not soak the ground beyond a few mm! 😅 Really hoping no drought again this year. 🙏🏾

Wait….blue tits did THAT?? 😲 I didn’t know they ate any other plant matter than seeds.

I am SO late with the sweet peas but sowed them last week! 🤦🏾‍♂️ Well... I'm the tortoise this year. 😉

Mary, I don’t know you but right now, I send you the biggest, tightest hug known to man! 🫂 It’s small, they got it early and prognoses these days already puts you in a great category, for which I’m thankful. 🙏🏾 Love & hope. I’d choose celery over the collards since they’re tougher to sprout! 😅

😅 Well good for you! As long as you have the space, planting another tree is only a good thing and in my book, you can't have too many cherry trees! 🍒❤️

I will be planting a few in the ground this year- serious investment in ramification. Here are some of my starting material: red beech trunk-chopped last year for taper, a fir, a juniper and a blue spruce that was once a Christmas tree (>10 yrs old). #Bonsai

I cross my fingers for you and hope I'm wrong! 😊 I'm so sorry- I don't want to be negative at all. Fruiting cherry blossoms are almost exclusively white but otherwise very pale pink. They also grow in clusters as opposed to peach. The blooms here however look like peach in colour and shape.

This doesn’t look like cherry to me…🤔 seems like apricot or peach.

Happy Belatéd Birthday! 😃 I may not share the topic of enthusiasm for begonias but I DEFINITELY can identify with this excitement over a well-sought plant book! Enjoy!

If it’s on Faux, the lies are guaranteed…that entire network is the manifestation of how humanity as a species can regress. 🤦🏾‍♂️

So bee hotels harbour varoa mites? We have the bamboo tubes but you’re right- we don’t sterilise them after winter. I thought they’re home to other insects year round…hence their ‘insect hotel’ name?

Yikes…. 😬 the cherries would just be a miracle then. I DO have a red vineyard peach. Hopefully this is the first year we get fruit. 🤞🏾 I’ll be saving seeds as that variety does come true to parent from seeds. It’s considered hierloom. Other peaches are red haven & south haven + a ‘Kuresia’ apricot.

What a brilliant hobby to have! I got some cherries in summer last year in the supermarket called ‘Cerasina Gold’ that were SO NICE! I saved the seeds & planted them this winter. I’ll see if they grow & even then, who knows if they’ll come even close to the original but the fun is finding out. 🤞🏾🙂

Ah-HAH!! 😅 Well I‘m not going to let jelousy consume me….I‘m going to fill all those loo-rolls that I‘ve been saving with compost, and go ferret out my broad bean seeds instead….lest we be forever put to shame by Andalucia 😌💅 (P.S. there IS no competition with Andalucia, you’ve already won! 🤣🤣🤣)

🤣🤣🤣 yes, the birds! Not the machines, thankfully. So sad though- last year we were ravaged by a particularly bad outbreak of the bird flu. 🤦🏾‍♂️ Lots of ducks, geese, cranes, herons and other birds died…but there’s hope and for sure, I saw lots migrating at the end of autumn. 🤞🏾 Nature heals. 🙂

Oh! Not sure….I‘ll have to check out the scent again and get back to you this year but they are scented!

So happy to see this! 🥰 I had a pang of sadness because I was reminded that in my Home parish, everything was flattened by that terrible hurricane Melissa…. but no storm flattens the ground. 🙂 And from the ground, we Grow again on stronger Roots. 💪🏾🌱🙏🏾
