Some maps get made because someone mentions "dragon island" and I picture not an island of dragons but a dragon-shaped island. Nomming a volcano because why not? Tiny boats, shadows of sharks & schools of fish, and itty bitty rope bridges thrown in for fun. Some maps are just because.

Reform UK said I was 'bullying' when I pointed out their colleague was jailed for beating up his former partner.

Now, they're trying to sneak him back into their party. So I'll say it again:

James McMurdock was jailed for beating up his former partner.

Today I am taking time to remember the hundreds of thousands of people in Britain who lost their lives in the pandemic, and to pay tribute to all those in the NHS and public health fields who worked tirelessly to manage the disease and save lives. #CovidDayofReflection

Women have always gone to sea and faced the sea's dangers. Women were in many of the naval losses chronicled here, and are numbered among the casualties. Remembering them, and all the women afloat and ashore whose lives are caught up with the sea, on this #InternationalWomensDay #NavalHistory

Reading ghost stories from a century ago a lot of them begin like "Seeing as I was beset by Nerves, my doctor prescribed I travel the Continent for three months" oh word yeah that does sound helpful. I didn't know that was an option

Exhausted and dehydrated, I slowly walk the last few steps. “This has to be it,” I think to myself. Taking a deep breath, I close my eyes and turn the handle, whispering a little prayer as I step through. I open my eyes and the last trickle of hope leaks away. I am still in IKEA.

While #DarwinDay is certainly a day to celebrate #CharlesDarwin and how he fundamentally changed humanity's understanding of all life on Earth...

It’s also the perfect excuse to share this letter he wrote while being magnificently grumpy about bees 🧵
