Hell yeah! I actually just realized that 5P pretty much requires some number of close combat models, so I need to go through the bit bucket to put together some good Tau melee specialists for my Fire Warrior/Pathfinder crew.

Then I had a bunch of store credit I needed to spend and they had Warhammer so I figured why not put together a mini dream Tau collection, which for me is a big kitbash of a bunch of different bits, like this Kroot, who is made from 3 different kits 20 years apart. It's been a very rewarding payoff.
These Vespids are funny because at the time I played Marines because I had inherited an army and couldn't afford to restart with Tau but I won this in a random event and they sat for decades until I started picking up a sci-fi collection for stuff like OPR and Five Parsecs and remembered them.

Yeah I heard they did some sort of Grimdark to the Ethereals, I feel continuously rewarded for having not read any Lore since the 5e Grey Knight codex lol. If you like classic Tau you'll appreciate the Vespids I'm working on :)

...Just remembered the episode in S1 where Bobby is covered in ants and they swarm Dale as soon as he touches Bobby. Bug control is a Nos power. Dale has canonically demonstrated Nosferatu powers and, unsurprisingly for Dale, flagrantly violated the Masquerade. The early seasons are very spacey lol

If we add a dash of Buffy in to make hunters a genetic trait you also get the fun interplay of Dale raising his perfect vampire son who is in fact half hunter to really juice that triangle. Joseph's tumbling in the backyard with crossbows while Dale goes on about what a great sewer dweller he'll be

The bronze hammer guy is another survivor, finding him actually inspired me to pick some up originally. I'm still on the lookout for a few more on eBay to complete the nostalgia collection, I just love what good characters they are.

Random: I got these old Z-Bots half for nostalgia and half as random sci-fi minis (great Guys) and just discovered this guy, who in my canon was the lead BBEG, survived the Great Childhood Z-Bot Purge by hiding out in my LEGO bin. A devious mastermind of a villain indeed. It commands an army again.
In the D&D vein you have Starfinder or Lancer, for more OSR style Traveler is the standard I believe, and I've heard very good things about the Alien game for horror. Lots of great options out there!

Absolutely hit the jackpot with an eBay lot. I thought it had maybe a squad of Tau and some randos, but it contains almost every odd and end I've wanted to have for my nostalgia mini collection, including terrain, Dark Eldar, Tyranids, and even a couple sneaky Necron warriors.

Just ordered some boxes of these and I cannot wait. I think this is the best box of Guys (as in "just a funny little Guy") in 28mm. I ordered both Crews, the masc Scavengers and the femme Mercs based entirely on what boxes heads I liked. Great painting!
Since you asked; this did not work. The grey over the tan was bad. I'm going to have to get something else, possibly just like adding a blue glaze? But not the quick project I hoped for so it's back in the queue. The red worked well previously, I got a green to try next.

Really stoked for the new Warhammer edition exclusively for the cheap push-fit Orks in the starter set. 15$ for a set of gaunts to build my little Kraken crew was awesome, really excited for a squad of boyz at a similar price point 🤣

A collection of Warhammer Vespids minis taped to paint stirrers for priming, in tan. A Runic Grey Army Painter Speed Paint marker centers the shot.
I really liked the red speed marker so I'm hoping this one can work the same magic for my Vespids that I've been struggling to get going. Resprayed the minis as they had previously been primed by hand in white.
Systemd also just added an "agent" review on their git. I was very encouraged by curl openly telling the slop peddlers to fuck off, but this is a very bad sign for open source.
