The lung B cell response also generated memory B cells in the lung, suggesting the response "may be relevant to vaccine strategies aimed at generating local immunity, such as respiratory infections" according to our Dr Alice Denton, Senior Lecturer.
Researchers from the @babrahaminst.bsky.social and Imperial have found that the lungs can generate good-quality B cell responses.
They administered an inflammatory agent to mice through the nose and observed their immune response in the lungs.
