Having visited Kynance Cove on a Reading Geological Society trip led by Jonathan Turner in September, checking out the fantastic serpentinites, some of us went back a few days later to take a look at the rocks from a different perspective

Having recently turned the page on November 2025 calendar and found Jonathan Turner's photo of tightly folded Carboniferous rocks at Crackington Haven, it's a timely reminder to get the 2026 calendar, again featuring Jonathan's photo. Fantastic 👍

Why the sad face☹️ Yesterday, on the dry bed of #River Thames at Ashton Keynes, 7 miles from its source. Repeat of August 2022 when I looked hopefully upstream at same location. The result of exceptionally low #groundwater level in #Cotswolds #aquifer after prolonged dry weather

Out on the #water, paddling down the River Kennet earlier this week. Despite the prolonged dry weather, it's looking good because of natural #groundwater flows from aquifers across the catchment and #river management.

Pahalgam attack: Will India suspending Indus Waters Treaty affect Pakistan? After a deadly militant attack in Kashmir, India suspended a key water treaty with neighbouring Pakistan.

With India suspending the Indus Waters Treaty, can they really stop #water flowing into Pakistan? Transboundary water management under stress but could water be "weaponised" further if tension rises between the two countries?
