Worth keeping in mind that the vast majority of people telling teachers that kids need to know how AI works have no idea how AI works. This is not at all the same as educated adults telling us that kids need to understand how to read well.
Every academic on the weeknd, ever
this is awful for many reasons, but IHE's framing suggests a frictionless market for academic labor where tenured faculty who dislike the terms of their job can leave for "bluer pastures" anytime. This recodes a functionally collapsed market for humanistic expertise in terms of free market fantasy
This lays out many of my concerns with AI, especially in education.
Truly one of the dumbest “developments” in the history of humans
Well, I like this!
May we experience such joy.
Picture of the century. 😍

We are at a crossroads with genAI and schools. I am going to lose my mind thanks to people not in the classroom constantly pushing teachers, especially in the humanities, to use AI.
🔥 @rokhanna.bsky.social to Democratic leadership: “Get out. Let a new generation lead. You’ve been ineffective. The base doesn’t like you. The base wants fighters.”
Our president is a sociopath. Proven over and over again. And yet, we act as if he’s inviolate.
It is hard not to despair.
God forbid we ever listen to women.
It’s all just…too much.
I feel it. In every molecule.
We are watching a dangerous and unfit President drag this country toward catastrophe — and Republicans refuse to act.
Invoke the 25th Amendment. Do your fucking job.
Let's be absolutely clear. Whether Donald Trump is currently suffering from cognitive decline, a loss of mental capacity, dementia or any other mental or physical disorder, he was NEVER, at any point, fit to be president of the United States.
Love this!
An image of Earth backlit by a mostly hidden sun, with a bright pinpoint of light to the bottom right of the disk.
The upper right corner of the image shows the blackness of space. Below and to the left lies a slice of Earth's atmosphere, decorated by a squiggle of exhaust plume.
A photograph taken inside a space vehicle, centered on a half-disk view of Earth seen out the capsule's window.
At the top of the image is a portion of the International Space Station. In the center of the image is a mostly lit moon. At the bottom of the image is a fuzzy view of Earth's atmosphere.
🚀🌔 Stunning views from NASA’s Artemis II mission and the International Space Station showcase Earth, the moon and even Venus, captured during humanity’s first crewed lunar mission since 1972. 🚀🌔 Follow all our mission coverage here: spklr.io/6001EyN07
Artemis II sent a pic of the beautiful garden planet we are too greedy, lazy, short-sighted, and ungrateful not to destroy:
I loved these SO MUCH when I was a kid. My 5th grade teacher read them to us after lunch and let us vote on the choices. Magic!
Wouldn’t that be delightful?
100% this.
You've been "sold a story" about the science of reading.

imagine naming a library after someone illiterate.
CBS turned their news operation into propaganda, kicked Colbert off the air for making too much trouble, and all that just to have Charles Barkley go on the air on one of their most-watched telecasts of the year and say this lmao
Schools messed up on cellphones and laptops. Perhaps they shouldn’t rush into AI?
Oh, yes!! I poured over that, completely convinced I would find a gnome one day. Alas, I did not.
If only more people thought like Bernie
Doing more than most universities.
